JEREMY SISTO Goes "Bats" Over 'The Other Side of the Door'

Johnny Depp wasn't the only star who turned to acting after his childhood ambition didn't pan out as expected. Just as Depp hoped to achieve stardom as a musician, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson thought he'd achieve his greatness on the gridiron. As a football player, Johnson won an NCAA national championship at the University of Miami. But the NFL never came calling, and he was cut from the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League halfway through his rookie season. That's when he got into the family business: wrestling. Johnson's father and grandfather both wrestled, and when he joined the WWE in 1995, he became one of the circuit's most popular performers. That popularity led to acting gigs, and over the last 15 years, the former linebacker has completed the transition to full-time thespian. While Johnson understandably first found big-screen success with action films like the G.I. Joe  and The Fast and the Furious franchises, he's branched out into drama and even comedy over the years.
