This field recording is of a powerful thunderstorm slowly approaching a small pine forest on the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp. To deaden the sound of raindrops on the SASS microphone, I put spanish moss on top of the enclosure. This worked really well!

Fields We Found is a new direct-to-tape project, heralding back to some of the founding techniques of ambient music. Performed live and recorded to 1/4" tape, 'Thanks' utilises the space between its swells of electronic and sampled tones, intertwining layers of charming melody.

From little Rayhat Reef (4 miles from our shore) before sunrise at 03.40 am. with Herring Gulls awakening. The microphones were placed in a Buckthorn where a flock of young Starlings kept night. (4.00>) (The low rumble is from a very distant ship. From 15 hours of recording, the noise is here as lowest)
