lovely to sit at @stellato-strings piano again and record improvisations again for the first time in 2023. more pieces to be made in the coming weeks from yesterday afternoon's session. for starters here's me, the piano and its harmonics, the wind chimes outside, Audacity editing and the life game of chance (there's no such thing as chance) at play.

Evening sky,
the silhouettes of farmers in their fields
deepen.

A wandering poet and ascetic Zen priest, Santōka was a disciple of Ogiwara Seisensui, one of the first poets to discard the traditional use of the 5-7-5 structure in haiku.

Santōka’s poetry emphasizes the necessity of sabi (solitude) in order to achieve spiritual enlightenment and serenity.

El conjunto del canto de ranas del Zarzal o trepadoras (Hypsiboas pulchellus) genera una obra sonora natural, acompañada de grillos y el sonido del mar.
En su etapa de reproducción su llamado es muy sonoro, metálico y musical, producido por la rápida vibración de las cuerdas vocales que se amplifican por el saco vocal.

The singing of the Zarzal frogs or climbers (Hypsiboas pulchellus) generates a natural sound work, accompanied by crickets and the sound of the sea.
In its reproduction stage, its call is very loud, metallic and musical, produced by the rapid vibration of the vocal cords that are amplified by the vocal sac.

Concierto de Ranas del Zarzal

Pequeño extracto y también de lo que pude capturar en mis días de residencia artística en La Zona (El Marquesado) junto a mis compañerxs y nuestra talentosa amiga Daniela (Guía naturista e investigadora del sudeste bonarense). Fue un día nublado y gris a las afueras de toda población donde se tejió una serie de recorridos ricos en información y descubrimientos en los prehistóricos Acantilados de Mar del Plata. Mientras nuestro entusiasmo se elevaba con la brisa marina, nos topamos con un pequeño grupo de loros barranqueros (Cyanoliseus patagonus), quienes nos dieron señales de alerta por nuestros pasos en las orillas del mar.

Estos encantadores loros, con sus plumajes de colores deslumbrantes, se lanzaron en un frenesí de llamadas y graznidos. Su estridente serenata no dejaba lugar para el aburrimiento. Pero, ahí estaba la razón detrás de su alboroto. Los loros barranqueros, como celosos guardianes, emitían alertas estridentes para proteger a sus crías.

La importancia de estos loros para la vida y la naturaleza biodiversa de Mar del Plata se hizo palpable en ese momento, y que también nos recordó la vital labor que realizan en el equilibrio del ecosistema. Como polinizadores y dispersores de semillas, estos loros contribuyen a la salud y regeneración de la flora local, formando una red esencial en el tejido de la vida marplatense.

Así que, rodeados de risas y graznidos, nuestro día en los Acantilados de Mar del Plata se convirtió en un inolvidable encuentro entre la creatividad humana y la vitalidad aviar. Nos marchamos con corazones llenos de asombro y gratitud por la maravilla de la naturaleza, decididos a preservar y celebrar la rica biodiversidad que hace de Mar del Plata un lugar verdaderamente único entre tanta belleza universal.

Départ ou retard pour la transe. Mais être toujours en avance sans vraiment savoir pourquoi. Appuyer sur le REC et attendre. « Tu jettes pas ta canne quand le poisson passe ! ». 
Autre espace-temps, à Azillanet ça craquèle sous les rires. Certain.es se laissent surprendre par l’expérience, d’autres y plongent les yeux fermés. Se laisser traverser les oreilles !

A little flock of migrating Whooper Swans rested for some days in the bay area near us. Years before this was rather common; there could be hundreds of swans yoking all the night on the bay, but as the Whooper Swan breeded to southern Finland, these migrating flocks disappeared.

Anyway, still waiting for more to come, I couldn't resist making a short recording though they were rather silent.  This is from an over night recording, and this ten minute was the most of their sounding.

Ploughing aural fields in remote North.

Field recordist, bird watcher and a digitized former darkroom rat living in little Makholma village on the West Coast of Finland by the Baltic Sea - 61N 21E

These recordings are done in AB stereo with omnidirectional microphones. With this technique everything in the field will be equally meaningful, even the silence behind the microphones. That's why you should use headphones!
