Caveri is a 7 year old girl with a wicked talent for music. When she met our music therapy team in critical care, she could barely move a muscle, but immediately reached for a mallet to play the drum. As she regained her strength, Caveri experimented with new sounds and instruments, singing along with her parents to every Bob Marley song we knew. Caveri expressed wanting to call the world to come together despite their differences, by bringing a myriad of ecclectic sounds together into what she proudly calls her first country song.

Luvia is a 14 year old girl who has been a Jackson miracle since the age of four. From the moment our music therapy team met her, she expressed a passion for singing and songwriting, taking every opportunity she could to share her talent. Luvia emphasized wanting to encourage people to look beyond life in social media, and see the perfectly framed lifestyles on the screen as “just another picture.” While recording this song, Luvia shared that it had always been her dream to record her music in a professional studio, but never imagined being in the hospital would lead her to realizing this dream.

Rudy is a 15 year old who suffered multiple gunshot wounds and facial and skull fractures. He wrote this rap while he was admitted in the hospital to express what he had been through. All lyrics and music are original compositions by Rudy and his music therapist.

Gabby (12 years old) wrote and recorded this song during her music therapy sessions to describe her journey over the past few months and to pay tribute to some of her favorite nurses.
