Coming out of the shadows is folk singer songwriter, Holy Heights, with his latest single ‘She Sees Me.’ The first single in a series of releases, ‘She Sees Me’ was released on the 1st July 2022.
Hidden in the depths of night, Holy Heights has been crafting together fragments of songs for the longest time. What started as a hobby, soon evolved into something more, igniting a spark and a burning desire to tell a story through his music. ‘She Sees Me’ is the first chapter, simple and lullaby-esque in its soundscape, the track is filled with hope and longing. ‘The song is about love that has not yet materialized’ states Holy Heights, depicted through the gentle picking of an acoustic guitar and the mellow timbre of a cello. The dulcet tones of Holy Heights’s voice weave in and out, dream-like and intimate, drifting over the melodious refrain of ‘I wanna know if she sees me like I do.’ It feels raw and honest, a romanticised imagination of what it is to be human and infatuated by another. Despite elements of melancholy, there is sweetness in the words and a
tenderness in the instrumentation.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Paul Simon, Sun Kil Moon and Gillian Welch, ‘She Sees Me’ is an indie-folk ballad that resonates in its human sincerity. Holy Heights finds creativity in life itself, the stories that are told and even the simplicity of the breath all lead him down a path of imagination, somewhere he hopes to guide his listeners to.
