042820 is a hybrid DJ/live set by 51717 recorded at her home in Brooklyn, NY. 

51717 is the intuitive language of New York-based artist Lili Schulder, a longtime fixture in the NYC D.I.Y. electronics scene. Releases on cult underground labels such as Jealous God, Total Black, and L.I.E.S. have served as tangible documentation of her exploration of themes and emotions handed down to her via an Orthodox Jewish upbringing. 51717’s minimalist sound design is focused on the transmission and decay of overwhelming thematic elements into minor sonic forms. Her work touches on implicit musical tensions between noise and silence, language and sound, material and transcendence—dichotomies that often form the binaristic conditions that are confronted and deconstructed within meditative and ritualistic practice.

Paris (FR)-based artist Isham Kouidri presents his debut release “All I See Is Blue” for the Enmossed x Psychic Liberation collaboration series. On “All I See Is Blue”, the artist extrapolates a sonic environment from a single piano loop. As the recording progresses through it’s respective acts, A side“Through The Window” and B side “Now He’s Gone”, tension and the sublime are interwoven. Isham Kouidri uses his time on “All I See Is Blue” to allow for his process to subvert the reverie he has created, but the light is always right around the bend.

"After a brief cameo on the quadruple tape beast "Auditory" (2018), Evitceles is back on Sound+Matter / Sores. This time heʼs making a full-length appearance. Following acclaimed releases for electronic powerhouses as Opal Tapes, Yerevan Tapes, Seagrave or Sofia-based Amek Collective among others, Bulgarian producer Etien Slavchev presents 'Нелюбовʼ. Roughly translating in English as 'Nonloveʼ itʼs exactly what youʼll get from the record. "Нелюбов" is mostly occupying the lower ends of both the frequency and the emotional specters of Evitcelesʼ music.

Choosing to serve the music narrative through a fluidly morphing tracklist, Evitceles once again indulges into his signature genre-bending approach. His music doesnʼt stay on the same place for too long. Instead itʼs a relentless mixture of peaks and come-downs. From the bleak and disrupted soundscapes of Memory Loss through the sparse ambience of the self-titled track, the cavernous trip-hop vibe of Weak Eyes or his well-known post-club brutalism in Poisonous Fragrance and Percolating Crawl. Evitceles is still big on producing drum-heavy music, dripping with cut-up emotional textures. However, atmosphere is all in "Нелюбов" so donʼt be surprised when you hear him wrapping the album with not one or two, but three drifting long-form pieces, because in the end of the day everything is meant to die in silence."

'The title of the newest release of FOR. suggests that our contemporary collective fantasies are trapped in an imaginary vacuum space, or closed-circuit in which the possibility of any alternative looks immeasurably distant. In that sense, the raised fist of a disembodied protagonist by Vera Romhány on the cover of the mini-album is an unequivocal call for a unified protest against the void of our futureless present. But the recent EP of Ábris Gryllus and Miklós Farkas is not only a symbolic gesture of such agitation but also a comprehensive summary of their long-term music collaboration. Ever since their early releases, FOR. functions as a FORum of their shared interests in techno-dystopian sonic worlds and brutalist sci-fi visions evoking various technologically advanced, machine-dominated future scenarios that, by the time, increasingly resemble our contemporary reality. 

The carefully designed sound effects of the new tracks, often inducing sharp noises of some nanotech devices or dismantled futuristic weapons, are almost always counterpointed with harsher sound textures, bold basses, and asymmetric rhythm structures. Accordingly, the recent EP Vacuum also aims to embrace various topics, such as politically engaged movements and militant aesthetics, monotonous labor and dehumanization, neo-industrial corporations, and virtual frontiers of future geographies that have yet to be drawn.'
