Holy Similaun pairs with the writer Archipel for “Arcaskathel”, an attempt to probe the holes of perception occurring in the neurodegenerative induced loss of memory.

“Arcaskathel” is an interstitium, a somatic study of phonetics. In little less than 40 minutes, electronic, minimal and noise elements are blended with classical Japanese tunings and non-linear time manipulations, all articulated by Archipel’s muscular and diffracted world of words.
The result is a synaesthetic guide for a not necessarily existent - musical or verbal - dictionary.

Soundwise, “Arcaskathel” forces the listener into a sense of confusion, where emotions are constantly denied by the impenetrable collapse of memory.

The two artists rely on a common ground made of childish-like words and delicate, yet subtly eerie melodies, which evoke foggy memories of a bygone childhood. They slip seamlessly into harsh, dissonant, and almost spat out unintelligible vocals, counterpointed by heavy bass and noisy electronics.
This is the agonizing powerlessness of synaptic failure.

RADIO:TRAUMA 056: BOARD[FORM]CONCRETE

Uzâ A’amo is a Los Angeles–based Brazilian-American performance artist, 3D animator, and core member of two Denver-born movements: Faith Changes the World and Lithocene. Shaped by a history of deep poverty and disrupted Indigenous lineage, their performance practice and sonic expressions exist and thrive in live, physical spaces shaped around their found community - inspired by the conflict and beauty of their heritage in the Global South.
This year, Uzâ has gradually shared new projects drawn from past collaborations, compilations, and live shows. They have also developed their most intimate and provocative performance to date, “Cholo as Xixtli (Man Dung)”, and will soon release an EP and video featuring music created for that performance. 
For this mix, Uzâ A’amo combines a selection of world sounds, experimental electronics and club sounds, finding the sonic intersection of their heritage and their current life, resulting in a fast-paced and eclectic journey through their world.
