I grew up listening to flips of the Isley Brothers "Between the Sheets" from Biggie's "Big Poppa" to "Nika" by Lil Vicious, but by far my favorite flip was the beat for "Ignorant Sh*t" by Jay-Z. Loyal consumer of Queens Blvd bootlegs I heard the original all Jay-Z version before Beanie was added for the American Gangster soundtrack version. Later on Drake and Lil Wayne dropped 64 bars each on it calling their version "Ignant Sh*t" in a clear attempt to top the original. I never liked any of the bars as much as I liked the beat. I never thought anything as meaningful was happening with the bars as such a beautiful beat called for. So I thought it was a waste. So I went to go do it justice and speak power and truth as almighty God blesses me to do. I tapped Shad as my running mate because he's amazing with the sauce while still maintaining insight and poignancy and love. The result is a cut I think is really important at showing cats how it should be done. And the play on the title is yo all that other nonsense cats was spitting on this gorgeous beat, we ignoring all of that. Nonsense we straight ignore.

Knxwledge has a lot of heat. And I've always enjoyed playing Monopoly (even though it tears my family apart). Somehow these two facts collided on an overnight drive from someplace (I can't even remember where), back to New York. I threw on some Knxwledge instrumental projects and when "kometostai.aintreallynootherwaytoputitro" (yes that is this instrumental's actual name) came on, "y'all wanna play monopoly?" took hold within my brain and I was off.

DJ Babey Drew sent me this beat told me I should rhyme on it said it was the big sound nowadays. I peeped it it was definitely heet. Definitely a new fly sound I hadn't rapped on. Writing to it was a ball. So then I hit him like I love this I wanna drop it, thinking he'd produced it himself but he was like nah that's a jam by a cat named Adekule Gold called "High" that I stripped down using stem separation software. I wasn't sad that I couldn' sell it though because I still adore it, which is basically the theme of the entire I Can't Sell These Either mixtape, so it makes a very fitting final single.
