This one's my favorite and probably closest to my true style. Organ inspired by the Black Angels, bass inspired by RHCP, drums inspired by Explosions in the Sky, but all original material. The first part of the guitar riff at 0:48 is a direct rip from the solo in Hotel California, but still recorded personally - I did it just for laughs. The drum break was fun.

Soulfull

Turn up your bass. This project really started with me wanting to experiment with vocals and trying my hand at hip/trap music. I focused heavily on a dirty hi-hat and simple snare backbeat, then I added a bass line that will make your trunk rattle. At first I really wanted to add guitar, but eventually used my synth with an arpeggiator. The outro is heavily influenced by J Dilla. For the lyrics I basically lowered the pitch and then readjusted the tempo.

Hip Trap

On this one, I actually started with the breakdown and then added the intermediate sections. A large portion of the "psych" sound comes a hi-fi synth modulation with a strong envelope on every trigger. All sounds you hear were recorded in my studio. Best heard through a system with good low tones.

Brain Tongue

I was cleaning my apartment and started humming this beat, so I recorded it and turned it into a song. A cross between psychedelic rock and reggae, this track conflicts emotions within itself. I copied a guitar riff from the self-titled song Black Sabbath and threw in a riff from Stranglehold at 3:00. Thanks to John Churchill for explaining some theory behind the tonality.

That Damn Beamer

This started as a joke to prove to myself I could make a heavy electronic beat, then it turned out to be pretty fun and I got really into it. I wanted something with pan-channeled drums like J Dilla's "People" or The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights". Later I introduced a guitar tremolo like in the chorus of the Black Angels' "Always Maybe". Then I wanted to put in a crash cymbal on the downbeat of 2 or 4 like in Lettuce's "Salute" or the Arctic Monkeys' "Knee Socks". Finally I felt like the track needed some dark vocal undertones, so I threw in some samples from Dr. Strangelove because that movie fucking rocks. Enjoi.
