Genius Of Time - Houston We Have A Problem (Original Mix)

Crazy P(enis) will be forever associated with the glory days of Paper Recordings. As the acid house fever dream started to fade, a new generation of ravers took the ball and ran with it for a more groove-driven sound. The band and label were part of the pack.

Paper Recordings first met Jim, Chris and Tim when they were fresh off the boat from North Wales and Nottingham, with a sampler tucked under their arms and a bag full of amazing demos. The first release soon led to their album, 'A Nice Hot Bath With...', which wrote the blueprint for what would become known as nu-disco. Sample heavy and great musicianship fed by late nights on the dance floors of Manchester made it an instant classic.

The band grew with the addition of Danielle Moore's lead vocals and star power. On their next album, The Wicked Is Music', the sound consolidated into the one that has gone on to conquer the world. House, disco, broken beats, funk and pop are all mixed into a heady mix of forward facing dance music.

The Early Years compilation charts their rise from of their early catalogue of ground-breaking productions.

JVXTA popped up on our radar this year with some tasty morcels on Clipp.Art, Homage and his own imprint Hardmatter. Now he's joining up with the Lobster Theremin guys with a beaut of an EP on their Distant Hawaii sub-label. We're showcasing the brilliant SS Anne that's fused two firm favourite samples into a late night burner thats as elegant as it is bumping. As soon as we heard this we knew it would had to get it up on SB channels ASAP!

As of late, France has been a hotbed for up-and-coming house and disco labels, releasing some of the grooviest tunes pumped out on dance floors across the globe. Newly minted Groovence is no exception to this, bringing forth their their first label release with a various artists compilation that will leave your head buzzing, heart melting and feet stomping. VA releases can be hit or miss but « The Cosmic Groove EP' lives up to its name with funky, spaced out cuts that will have you calling Houston and assuring them that there is no problem.
