He's also a founding member of TRAX ONLY, a record label and DJ collective producing massive events in and around the Crescent City. People in Los Angeles usually remember the moment they first saw Colored Craig DJ. He cuts a memorable figure: throwing down records on the turntables and dancing like he's in the crowd, not behind the decks. He's one of those rare selectors who's almost as fun to watch as he is to listen. But the rest of the world should be listening. Over the past few years, Colored Craig has become one of the LA area's most in-demand DJs, not just because of his considerable skills, but because of his old-school, loved-up ethos. He plays classic house records with a verve and style that you can't really teach or learn. You just have to have it.

A choreographer by trade, everything about Craig has to do with movement, the joy of it, the energy you both gain and lose through dancing. His RA Podcast, recorded in his living room (a sort of nightclub in itself) gets across the infectious, uplifting energy of his sets, blazing through tracks from Kerri Chandler, Masters At Work and Chez Damier, and even including a disco house track that samples the Price Is Right theme. You might call this sound nostalgic, but it doesn't feel that way coming from Colored Craig, who is obsessed with the now, and the power of the moment. That outlook is all over this mix, and with any luck, you'll be hearing and watching him DJ around the world outside of LA sometime soon.

Honey Bun is a multidisciplinary afro-futurist artist and DJ whose work aims to reclaim the black past, affirm the black present, and demand the black future. Born in NYC, raised in Texas, and now based in Brooklyn, she aims to seamlessly blend her east coast roots with her southern upbringing. As a resident of The Lot Radio, Honey Bun hosts her monthly show, BUNTOPIA, captivating listeners with a distinctive mix designed to "sonically journey through the cosmos." The show also features guest DJs, each bringing their own interstellar interpretation to the theme. The sounds of BUNTOPIA, extend into a party night often hosted by intimate NYC clubs, Le Bain and Mood Ring. She is the co-founder of beloved party series, Soul Connection, along with DJ, Lovie. Together, they craft an immersive atmosphere filled with soulful house, R&B, funk, and disco music, bouncing between renowned Brooklyn clubs, Good Room and Nowadays. Honey Bun is also a regular at Mansions, a fusion of a natural wine bar and nightclub. Here, she orchestrates bi-monthly all-night sets where she effortlessly buzzes through genre, crafting 6-hour mixes that are uniquely her own.

For Eris’s mixtape “Raving Disco Breaks Vol. 1”, she uses old records to create a new style out of fragments. Many of the selections have been featured heavily in her live DJ sets, including her b2b sets with Octo Octa. Eris accumulated these records slowly, over decades, but it wasn’t until touring last year that she realized a “sound” coalesced in her bag. What does a rave at the disco sound like? Kinda like everyone took ecstasy at the roller rink. On her ecstatic mix, Eris colleges together a genre by scratching-in breaks with horn samples, mixing Disco House with broken beats, dropping Miami Bass jams with Boogie keys and blending Rave tunes with disco vocals. On the mix Eris utilizes turntable techniques such as “doubles” tricks and “hot mixing”—a fast-paced mixing style inspired by her beloved B96 Mixmasters, Chicago’s most popular 1990’s radio DJs. Like all of Eris’s mixes, she weaves strong narratives of embodiment, defiance, cultural transcendence and personal triumph (a classic disco emotion) into a flow of body rockin’ beats, scratches, drops, and sweet melodies. The result is a bass heavy summertime house mix for the psychedelic bad girls, boys and enbys.
