Hood Nation Vol1 which was Hood Natives Debut Album on Traxsource last year was a success on the album charts landing at #8 on the top 100 chart. Native Craft a song came out as the favorite single and made it to most playlists, including that of legendary Osunlade of Yoruba Records. The Hood Natives _Hood Nation Series aims to showcase house music production at grass root level. Underground Producers, Writers, Instrumentalists and Composers are given a platform to showcase their talents to the world of music, through the Hood Nation Series.  
Sqwayi’s real name Phumlani Sokopo a DJ, Producer  & Remixer was born in September 1987 and can’t live without music. He began his career at the age of 19 in 2006 in the township of Soweto in Johannesburg where he was raised. He was introduced to House Music by his old time friend Mthokozisi Buthelezi (aka MR Edge ) that taught him how  to DJ. Sqwayi’s interest in music changed radically and he started mixing music, deejaying at small house parties and famous street bashes of Soweto. He has been currently deejaying for 8 years.
 
Sqwayi tries to combine the brand new releases with the old school and dance floor classics. The evolution of his sets includes: Soulful House, Dance (Commercial House), Jazz, Deep House, Afro Deep & Disco. He is well respected and renowned amongst his peers and fans in the industry at large. The decks are sure to be on fire when he’s in charge.
