Rambling Boys of Pleasure

'Down in the Willow Garden', also known as "Rose Connelly" is a traditional Appalachian murder ballad about a man facing the gallows for the murder of his love.
The melody we used is from Tim Eriksen's version of the Sacred Harp song, 'Golden Harp'

2. Down in the Willow Gardens

This set comprises of two pieces. The first is Lord Galway's Lamentation (O'Carolan) and the second is a tune that Sean composed called The Burren'ing of Mr.Bascombe. This twisted tune is for Ian Bascombe, whistle player and gentleman who found his home in the Burren, Co. Clare.

1. The Burrening of Mr Bascombe

Two sets of tunes. The first is a traditional Finnish tune and the second is an Irish reel called 'Farewell to Miltown'.

Finnish Willie

Hoodman Blind are three musicians from Limerick, Clare and Wexford who explore the boundaries of tradition. Though their roots are in Irish music and song, Hoodman Blind are deeply influenced by the folk musics of other countries, such as Finland and Sweden where they have both studied and performed. The ethos of the band is to create a musical landscape that brings an array of colors and shades to the tradition.
