A number of years ago in a cold Alberta winter I happened to be at a small ski hill in Edmonton. I noticed a man that looked as if he was down on his luck, he was and it was Christmas. I bought him a hot chocolate drink and he told me his sad tale of a series of events that led to his homelessness. He liked to come down to the ski hill because as he watched the children laugh and play it reminded him of his family Christmas celebrations of past years. So, hearing his plight I invited him to my home for a Christmas dinner where my wife at the time called to him to come on in. It turned out to be a very emotional time for him as he was not really used to much kindness at this time of year. This Christmas dinner inspired me to write this song about the question what is Christmas? I hope you like it.
