The latest release from Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint welcomes Arina Mur back to the label for her debut single. Since making her production debut just over three years ago, the Russian artist has found a home on Anjunadeep, Akbal Music and Seven Villas, where her deep, organic sound has flourished. Also, an accomplished DJ, Arina has had the honour of opening for top international talents such as MANDY, Pablo Bolivar, Gorje Hewek and Izhevski. October of 2020 marked Arina's Sound Avenue debut with a well-received remix of the Spotify hit ‘Kafka' by Ercos Blanka. Now making a welcome return to the label, Arina presents a new single entitled ‘Make a Wish', alongside remixes from Jim Rider and Pambouk.
Since first emerging in 2017 Arina's exotic sound has taken square aim at the dance floor. Her latest ‘Make a Wish' continues that trend with a robust, well-shaped groove and healthy percussive complement. Bursting with ultrasonic qualities, Arina expertly marries vibrant arps with plush tones and choir-like vocal pads. Energetic and heavenly in equal measure, the first act sets the stage for a grandiose style break, complete with glowing swells and gorgeous vocal phrasing, perfectly setting the stage for a thumping drop and Mediterranean inspired finale.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of ‘Make a Wish' is Jim Rider. Based in the UK, Jim Rider has been a key figure in London's Electronic Music scene as a DJ, producer and promoter. Having first emerged in 2017 as a producer, it was 2020 that proved to be a breakout year for Jim, landing releases via Lee Burridge's TRYBESof and Tale & Tone imprints, as well as projects for Akbal Music, Kindisch and his own Signs imprint. Now adding Sound Avenue to his resume, Jim debuts on the label with an inspired take on ‘Make a Wish'. Making great use of the parts and reprocessing them to maximum effect, the UK artist has created a complement that excels on rhythm and groove. Wonky tones and Mediterranean musicality set the mood early, as immaculately contoured bass and buzzing effects add swing and depth across the first movement. A timely break sits at the heart of the journey, pulling more emotion into the narrative as the vocal rises across placid pads and a bed of exotic percussion, onwards to a trippy finale.

The release concludes with Pambouk also making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Make a Wish'. After exploring different genres of music and releasing many tracks under various monikers for years, the Grammy nominated DJ and producer eventually settled on the Pambouk alias for his organic sounds. Fast forward two years and the Armenian artist has found a home on Hoomidaas, Melody Of the Soul and Proton Music. Now adding another key entry to his well-kept discography, Pambouk rounds out the release with a deeper take on ‘Make a Wish'. Rhythmically enticing from the outset, a bed of warm beats and low-slung bass stabs set the foundation for a storyboard of jangly motifs and organic drums. Transcendent in delivery, the vocal narrative delights, striking at timely moments and juxtaposed beautifully with its colourful surroundings. Furthering its textural appeal is a glowing break, building tension through muted beats and vocal phrasing, before pulling back as the beats drop for a finale that is equal parts musical and groovy. A gorgeous interpretation from Pambouk, which rounds out a welcome return to the label for Arina Mur, who impresses once again with ‘Make a Wish'.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of June by showcasing new interpretations Nopi's ‘Where To Go'. Released in October of 2020 as part of the Ukrainian artist's ‘Where To Go' EP, the lead selection anchored the four track showcase with its hopeful vocal phrasing and emotive musicality. Supported by organic and progressive house DJs alike, Sound Avenue now looks to bring new life to the track by inviting Domingo +, Eric Lune and Tristan Case & Tom Barlow to re-imagine it for 2022's summer season. 

Returning to Sound Avenue with the first interpretation of ‘Where To Go' is label stalwart Domingo +. Formerly one half of the Mariner + Domingo duo, American artist Chris Domingo has compiled an impressive resume across a two-year stretch. Upon making his debut on Balkan Connection in July of 2020, the Florida resident went on a remarkable run, landing releases via 3rd Avenue, Proton Music, RYNTH, and The Purr. Perhaps his most comfortable landing spot was Madloch's long-standing Sound Avenue imprint, where Mariner + Domingo released ten originals across ten months, none more impactful than ‘Another Life' and ‘Inertia', which earned play and support from Lee Burridge, Tim Green and Sebastien Leger. Following on from the success of February's ‘Hardway', a release which marked Chris' solo debut, the American artist now lands back on Sound Avenue with a spirited take on ‘Where To Go'. Fluid and trippy across the first movement, Chris continues his stylized ways with fresh percussive arrangements, timely vocal fragments and supernatural effects creating a colourful path into the main break. Sitting comfortably in an emotive yet thought provoking space, submerged beats rise out of intoxicating atmospheres as the interlude evolves, eventually breaking off into a Mediterranean-themed drop and charming, groove-centric finale.

Also making a welcome return to Sound Avenue with the second interpretation of ‘Where To Go' is Eric Lune. The long-standing Belgian imprint served as the landing spot for Eric's first ever release, a contribution to the label's popular Summer Sampler series in 2018. Building a bond with the label going forward, the Aussie artist delivered the well received EP projects ‘Embers' and ‘Dreaming Home' in 2019 and 2021 respectively. Also calling Balance Music, Plattenbank and Proton Music home, Eric now brings his melodic mastery back to Sound Avenue with a gorgeous take on ‘Where To Go'. From warm, rhythmic beginnings comes redolent themes and heartfelt sonics. Gentle flutters build and balmy atmospheres emerge, perfectly setting stage for incandescent vocals and creamy arps to forge a path into the break. Fuzzed out textures create moments of hope and reflection as the centrepiece evolves, before smoothly segueing into a thumping finale which is sure to send people home with a smile. 

Providing the third and final interpretation of 'Where To Go' are Tristan Case and Tom Barlow. Renowned for his dreamy yet reassuringly tough and beautifully balanced approach to deep house, UK born, Australia based artist Tristan Case has carved out a sound all his own. From his 2020 debut on Do Not Sit On The Furniture to more recent offerings via Flug Lab, onedotsixtwo and UGENIUS Music, the Sydney resident has enjoyed a three-year creative swell.  Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for Tristan's organic sounds, with a contribution to Volume Four of the imprint's popular ‘Correlation' series marking his label debut in April of last year. Fellow Sydney resident Tom Barlow has been a recent studio partner of Tristan's, with the duo bringing their creative vision to Mariner + Domingo's highly regarded Sound Avenue project ‘Inertia'.

Hoomidaas Records is the record label of the DJ/artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist Armen Miran along with his partner Christina Acobiance. The word Hoomidaas is a stylized acronym for the phrase “who made us”, paying homage to how past narratives shape the present moment. Armen states, "I would not be who I am if it wasn’t for my past." This shows that he holds a deep respect for experiential knowledge above all else and intends to capture that through this label venture. Furthermore, when isolated as “hoom” in Armenian it means “raw” and when artists are invited to be a part of Hoomidaas releases Armen asks them to imagine what the raw part of the sun (the other side of the sun that we cant see) would look like. He loves to challenge their perspectives and hear what experiential wisdom emanates from his fellow creators. 
 
The music, artists, and artwork/design are a huge priority for Armen. His mission is to hand-craft every aspect of Hoomidaas adding to its memorable intrigue via his experiences travelling and playing shows. He tells us that, "a few years ago I played a 12 hour set surrounded by the most beautiful artwork all over the walls of the space. That space is called Rambalkoshe. Since then we have been collaborating with Rambalkoshe and they’re who made our vision and art design come to life for many of the illustrations associated with the label." The synchronistic nature of the partnerships he embarks on are a strong indicator that intuition combined with drive can take you somewhere truly magical. 
 
Currently the label works with a handful of artists. They have each of their artists release a mix on their mix series called “Midaas” which comes out every two months. Additionally the label releases bi-annual compilations, one in the summer called “Hoom Side of the Sun” and one for the winter called “Hoom Side of the Moon”.
