Darksidevinyl has established a sterling reputation for powerful afro-house, releasing on the likes of Connected Frontline, Deepalma, and MoBlack. His TOR debut alongside Ucha, Zaiana, has become an instant classic with its jazz-funk-infused percussive flavor. The Egyptian returns to TOR for his first solo project on the imprint - the Ulu EP.

Ulu opens with punchy drum offerings, kicking us right into the groove. Rhythmic percussion and throbbing touches of bass set the stage for a dramatic rise alongside afro-tinged callings. A huge synthetic hook pops into action at the peak, bringing tremendous power with its spatial movement. Simply put, Darksidevinyl’s A-side is the dancefloor bomb we all needed as we enter the long winter.

Kizza builds towards a crescendo with serene guitar licks, as soft psychedelic vocal chops capture attention. The irresistible groove greets synth stabs to elevate energy, as character from across the musical spectrum ebbs throughout this sensational B-side.

The latest installment of our free download series welcomes Joan Retamero for his first appearance. Hailing from Rosario, Argentina, Joan made his production debut in November of 2015 with a contribution to Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeats 3 compilation. A string of successful releases on Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings, Clubsonica Records and Movement Recordings followed thereafter, putting Joan at the centre of all things groovy and progressive. Also an accomplished DJ, the Rosario native made his debut at the EGG (London) in 2015 alongside top talents Nic Fanciulli and Pig & Dan, before going on to play alongside Paul Oakenfold at Ministry of Sound in 2017. With a release on Perfecto Black highlighting 2020, Joan has been quiet across 2021 thus far producing his first artist album, but building in the background has been the demand for his unofficial version of Billie Eilish’s hit ‘Oxytocin’. Much sought after since being played by Hernan Cattaneo on his popular Resident Podcast in August, we’re now happy to offer the track as an exclusive free download. Enjoy!

John Cosani, electronic music DJ and producer, was born in 1988 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From an early age, his interest in music became evident, getting even stronger with time. At the age of 12 he began his musical studies with piano lessons and later on, when he discovered house music, he fell in love with its eclectic and enveloping sound. At 16 years old, he began playing in small parties, setting a start point for his passion and his imminent career as a DJ.

To start this incredible journey we have 'Domo Arigato', with a futuristic sound that hypnotises us from beginning to end. 'Pink Noise' is another crossover production with a really cinematic approach, an intense rollercoaster of sensations that will not leave you cold. On the remix duties the italian maestro Lehar perfectly maintains the essence of the original but takes his music piece to its own sonic universe. Conceptually connected to all the other tracks 'Tall Figures' includes raw synths and monstrous rhythms that make it another timeless song. 

To finish this EP/mini album we have a pure song of optimism and positive vibes, 'I Have To Go' is a perfect ending for this tale, full of complex sound layers and atmospheres that will transport you to other worlds.'

We welcome Molac on board 90watts for the very first time. His label debut is titled 'As Above, So Below', a wonderful piece of melodic organic house music. Super groovy and incredibly infectious. Another great release by the artist known for his output on labels such as Watergate Records, Songuara and Amulanga to name a few.

On remix duties Dulus makes his return on the label a couple of months after the release of his 'Mostly Sunny' single which is undoubtedly amongst the most populair songs released on 90watts in the past year. His super funky bassline sets the tone and pushes 'As Above, So Below' to another level. Top class stuff!

Musique de Lune wraps up a strong spring season by welcoming Erich Von Kollar to the label for his debut single. Based in Hungary and armed with a progressive organic crossover sound, Erich Von Kollar has nearly fifteen years of production experience, releasing music primarily via his own Stellar Fountain imprint. Hoomidaas Records is the record label of the DJ/artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist Armen Miran along with his partner Christina Acobiance. The word Hoomidaas is a stylized acronym for the phrase “who made us”, paying homage to how past narratives shape the present moment. Armen states, "I would not be who I am if it wasn’t for my past." This shows that he holds a deep respect for experiential knowledge above all else and intends to capture that through this label venture. Furthermore, when isolated as “hoom” in Armenian it means “raw” and when artists are invited to be a part of Hoomidaas releases Armen asks them to imagine what the raw part of the sun (the other side of the sun that we cant see) would look like. He loves to challenge their perspectives and hear what experiential wisdom emanates from his fellow creators. 
 
The music, artists, and artwork/design are a huge priority for Armen. His mission is to hand-craft every aspect of Hoomidaas adding to its memorable intrigue via his experiences travelling and playing shows. He tells us that, "a few years ago I played a 12 hour set surrounded by the most beautiful artwork all over the walls of the space. That space is called Rambalkoshe. Since then we have been collaborating with Rambalkoshe and they’re who made our vision and art design come to life for many of the illustrations associated with the label." The synchronistic nature of the partnerships he embarks on are a strong indicator that intuition combined with drive can take you somewhere truly magical. 
 
Currently the label works with a handful of artists. They have each of their artists release a mix on their mix series called “Midaas” which comes out every two months. Additionally the label releases bi-annual compilations, one in the summer called “Hoom Side of the Sun” and one for the winter called “Hoom Side of the Moon”.
