Dee Montero returns to his newly formed Futurescope label with an alleviating single entitled ‘Aria’ including a remix from Newman.

Dee Montero does not stop. After an intense year playing across the globe whilst fitting in super-productive studio sessions in Bali and Belfast he’s back with his brand new label, Futurescope, and following on from the wide-ranging success and support of debut single ‘Sapphire’, is now returning with an even bigger record for the second release, ‘Aria’, which signals the next chapter in the evolution of Dee and his fast-developing imprint. With the label’s ethos bound to its core, the past, present and future of dance music sits in high regard with Futurescope. Dee Montero is widely known for being an adventurous artist with an uplifting production style which can be heard on previous releases on labels such as Ajunadeep, Diynamic, All Day I Dream and Knee Deep In Sound, and has received support from artists such as Peng Tong, Lee Burridge and Solomon. ‘Aria’ is a gentle, enlightening melodic house track created last year for Dee’s Robot Heart Burning Man set inspired by the playa sunrises featuring alluring piano keys, calming vocals and beautifully revolving melodies whilst the ‘Ambient Mix’ offers up a beatless version of the stunning original. Dee Montero invites NYC based Newman to remix the original who is a firm favourite of All Day I Dream and has releases on Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Tale + Tone. His remix is tribal roller featuring organic percussion, bright, fluttering synth and warm tones that pulsate throughout.

We are starting the new year with a very special guest.

Jordi Giménez was born in Barcelona and currently lives in Sitges. His DJ experience goes back to 1994 and he immediately came under the influence of the sounds that defined Eastern Spain in those days.
Throughout his journey, Jordi has experimented with a wide range of genres. He dabbled with the “harder” sounds of the mid- to late-90’s, then evolved through trance, techno and tech house before arriving at today’s progressive sounds. The style that most influenced him was early 2000’s trance.

In addition to his long track record as a DJ, Jordi was also a key collaborator in one of the most prestigious electronic music radio shows out of Valencia, MDT (La Máquina del Tiempo). His sets were broadcast all across Spain multiple times.

Jordi’s style is instantly recognizable. When creating and mixing a set, his dynamic transitions, fader play and blend of genres and styles to create stories and musical narratives all combine into a unique signature sound.

More recently, Jordi won the 2020 World Championship of Progressive House DJ’s, which has raised his global visibility.

He currently plays in the broader range of progressive house and melodic techno. His sessions leave no one indifferent. This one he prepared for Ottawa Prog Vibes is a memorable one, check it out.

Hoomidaas Records is the record label of the DJ/artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist Armen Miran along with his partner Christina Acobiance. The word Hoomidaas is a stylized acronym for the phrase “who made us”, paying homage to how past narratives shape the present moment. Armen states, "I would not be who I am if it wasn’t for my past." This shows that he holds a deep respect for experiential knowledge above all else and intends to capture that through this label venture. Furthermore, when isolated as “hoom” in Armenian it means “raw” and when artists are invited to be a part of Hoomidaas releases Armen asks them to imagine what the raw part of the sun (the other side of the sun that we cant see) would look like. He loves to challenge their perspectives and hear what experiential wisdom emanates from his fellow creators. 
 
The music, artists, and artwork/design are a huge priority for Armen. His mission is to hand-craft every aspect of Hoomidaas adding to its memorable intrigue via his experiences travelling and playing shows. He tells us that, "a few years ago I played a 12 hour set surrounded by the most beautiful artwork all over the walls of the space. That space is called Rambalkoshe. Since then we have been collaborating with Rambalkoshe and they’re who made our vision and art design come to life for many of the illustrations associated with the label." The synchronistic nature of the partnerships he embarks on are a strong indicator that intuition combined with drive can take you somewhere truly magical. 
 
Currently the label works with a handful of artists. They have each of their artists release a mix on their mix series called “Midaas” which comes out every two months. Additionally the label releases bi-annual compilations, one in the summer called “Hoom Side of the Sun” and one for the winter called “Hoom Side of the Moon”.
