In the style of an Ecstatic Dance Wave, I weave my voice, percussive elements and electronic basslines into intense, looped soundscapes. The result is a full dose of spherical downtempo rave meditation that takes you from standstill to sweaty euphoric catharsis.

Many people ask me when I’m going to ‘DJ’ next, as they automatically associate DJing with electronic music. Particle Twirl is now my first club-ready live set that blends perfectly with regular DJ sets.

One special feature of Particle Twirl is the ever-increasing speed: Particle Twirl starts with a spherical soundscape without drums and, over the course of an hour, pulls the dancers up to a crisp 115 BPM.

Since I only play the kick drum and bass from the computer and improvises the rest with my voice, every Particle Twirl sounds a little different – a real, danceable live experience.

Im Stil einer Ecstatic Dance Wave verwebe ich meine Stimme, perkussive Elemente und elektronische Basslines zu intensiven, geloopten Klangteppichen. Das Ergebnis ist eine volle Dosis sphärische Downtempo-Rave-Meditation, die dich vom Stillstand zur verschwitzt-euphorischen Katharsis führt.

Ein clubtaugliches Liveset

Viele Menschen fragen mich, wann ich denn das nächste Mal "auflege", da sie mit einer elektronischen Musikerin automatisch DJing verknüpfen. Particle Twirl ist nun mein erstes, clubtaugliches Liveset. Ich kombiniere meine Vocal Loops mit meiner Faszination für die intensive Energie der DJ-Sets, die ich auf Ectstatic Dance-Veranstaltungen erlebe.

Der Unterschied zu konventionellen DJ-Sets liegt in der sich stetig steigernden Geschwindigkeit: Particle Twirl beginnt mit einem sphärischen Klangteppich ohne Drums und zieht die Tänzer:innen über den Verlauf einer Stunde hoch auf knackige 115 BPM - und entlässt sie dann in die nächste Performance.

Da ich nur Kickdrum und Bass vom Computer abspiele und den Rest improvisiere, klingt jeder Particle Twirl ein bisschen anders - ein echtes, tanzbares Live-Erlebnis!

Hello, my name is Juc. This is my first EP.

I have always struggled to put into words what drives me to make music. It seems like such a sacred thing to me that words fail me. Music was my first love and it will be my last. Maybe my only one, for love should come without pain or compromise.

Now that I think about it, though – it does come with pain. Always. Squeezing your innermost self into a set of notes and words is a painful experience. You want it to be perfect, but it never is. One day, your voice sounds like a duck, the next day you can’t find that one sound you’re imagining for this specific bit. It’s frustrating.

But when it all comes together, it feels like the world has become whole once again. It’s the best feeling ever.

Electronic music appeals to me because of its orderliness. But without soul, it’s only machines singing to keyboard commands. That’s why I use my voice and organic instruments – to make the machine sound human.

So please, go ahead and enjoy my music. I can’t promise you any endorphine-fueled happy sunshine bombs because that’s not who I am. But maybe you will find peace in the sadness – as I do.

Between atmospheric soundscapes and my sometimes classical, sometimes modern voice, I build up arcs of tension waiting to be discharged in endorphin-rushing catharsis. The influences of my electronic symphonies range from Moderat, Polynation and Trentemøller to HÆLOS and Fever Ray.
