To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his highly respected aLoLa record label, Omid 16B is marking this landmark achievement with a series of special releases and amazing parties throughout 2013. Now, as he puts the finishing touches to his forthcoming label mix compilation, it is time to revisit one of his finest creations.

When “Escape (Driving To Heaven)” by Omid 16B featuring the distinctive vocals of Richard Morel was first released on 29th October 2001 on the ground-breaking (now defunct) Hooj Choons label, it became one of the landmark releases of that era, an undisputed classic, that is to this day, regarded as one of the most unique and influential tracks of our time.

Now, in 2013, as part of the “20 Years Of aLoLa” celebrations, Omid 16B has sought out and commissioned a series of exceptional, diverse remixes to introduce “Escape” to a new audience and bring memories flooding back to those who remember the past.

Simon Shackleton 'We All Shine On' (preview)

After having released a track on ‘Sudbeats vol. 2’, the always consistent Cid Inc. makes his long over due Sudbeat solo release.

‘Temazcal’ is a groovy little number, deep and chunky and full of swagger. The muted bass sounds encapsulate your mind, before a luscious soundscape unfurls as the dreamy tinkles cascade like a warm blanket of sound. The combination of these elements generates a mystical hazy feeling of beauty, and is mesmerising.

‘Response’ is a hypnotising and warm, subtly layered gem. This is a masterpiece for the mind as it crystal clear production leaps out at you, creating an almost 3D vortex of sound, and all the while, the track is gently building creating tension and atmosphere as it meanders effortlessly and beautifully as a perfect dance floor moment.

And the already known ‘Fragile Circle’ closes the package. This track doesn’t need much of an introduction, as it was one of the gems included in the outstanding Hernan Cattaneo’s Balance and has been played by Hernan himself all over the world during the album tour.

In February 2017 house music veteran Phonique dropped 'Green Supreme' on his own Ladies and Gentlemen imprint, his fourth studio album which was a collection of 11 exquisitely produced tracks. Since then, there's been a steady stream of killer remixes that have taken the source material in different directions, and now with Green Supreme Remixed, these are gathered together into one package with a handful of new exclusive remixes.

These fresh versions include Tapesh’s rework of 'Reality Check feat. Eddie Fowlkes' - a bumping, groovy and hypnotic take which emphasizes the tracks dominance over the dancefloor. 'Vincent Price feat. LazarusMan' arrives with a Phonique and Malive remix - a stripped down house burner with a killer descending bassline, new-wavey pads and precise drums, accompanying LaruzusMan’s sparse vocals.

Other exclusives include Douglas Greed’s remix of the 'The Price' - a much spacier approach with a shuffling groove and sparkling melodies from the Freude Am Tanzen regular. 'Something Special' - featuring the vocal talents of Ian Whitelaw, was always ripe for reworks - and three bomb-grade versions are featured here. Joining Phonique’s own club mix, Nhan Solo drops a tough Chicago influenced vibe, while The Black 80s flip the script totally to highlight the synth pop roots of the track. Likewise, Sam Shure supplies plenty of tech house magic to keep every floor happy.

Wrapping up this stellar compilation, three mixes of 'Grass is Greener featuring Antonia Vai' also bring the heat - the club mix is joined by refixes by Larse and Kruse & Nürnberg.
