Another year has gone by, and I have learnt so much about myself. I feel like each chill mix I make represents my most inner deepest thoughts.  Like an extension of my soul. Each track is carefully selected and molded together to create a story. A story of love & friendship. That ultimately makes this series so so special & personal.  

About the Album Art -  All of the pictures consist of some of my most cherished friends, old and new, with their partner or friends! When I got this image back it made me GRIN from EAR TO EAR. It fills my heart with so much joy & I am so glad my friends can be apart of this. BIG thank you to everyone who submitted pictures! This wouldn't have been possible without you.

I love De La Soul. I always have. <3

This year is the 30th anniversary of their amazing album '3 Feet High And Rising'.
When it came out it was my favorite album. I bought it, and every 12" single I could find!
One of the B-Sides from the 'Me, Myself And I' single is a song called 'What's More'.
As presented in 1989, it's a quick, 2-minute track. It's just 3 samples and some rapping. At 132 beats-per-minute, it seems like it's over before it begins. The message and lyrics are great, but I always thought that they deserved better. If these words had been combined with a sample-rich music bed, 'What's More' could have been included on '3 Feet High And Rising', and might have been right up there with the rest of the beloved tracks from that album.

Well, 30 years later, hopefully I can show you what I mean. :)

I  challenged myself to make an old-school rap track for 'What's More'. Totally sample-based, eclectic, smooth & reminiscent of something De La would have gladly rapped over in 1989!
What I've come up with is a track that I think gives the lyrics the musical setting they need to fit right in as one of the layered, sample-heavy tracks of late-80s era De La Soul! 

To stay true to a track that could have been produced in 1989, this remix only contains samples from songs that were available when 'What's More' was produced. The samples span from 1968 to 1988. See how many of them you can spot!

Hi Music Lovers,
As promised, I am happy to offer you this track I’ve been re-mastered and re-arranged over the past months, as a FREE download for this Valentine period, and to thank you for supporting my work !
Bronx born Dave Valentin was a gifted musician, a brilliant flutist that I had the pleasure to see in concert during his GRP days.
This track was only available on Vinyl up to this very day. 
Last year I bought a mint and unopened copy of it, in order to do the transfer first, and then started the re-mastering and production of it… The original was initially recorded on Dave Valentin “In Love’s Time” album in 1982 with a cast of incredible talented musicians such as Marcus Miller on Bass, Buddy Williams on Drums, Jeff Mironov on Guitar, Patrice Rushen and Dave Grusin on Keyboards, among others… Curtis King Jr is the singer on this session, and by the way there are many other gems on this same album... 
Let's bring back LOVE in life !
