Now I know that cantankerous old coot C J Hopkins used the very same words to describe the current rift in the western world but I can verify that I wrote the lyrics to this song a good month before he did, he just says it much better, and I will quote him here;

"Yes, there is a divide. A great divide. A chasm. A schism. A gulf. An abyss. A gaping, yawning, unbridgeable fissure. A Grand Canyon-sized fault in the foundation of society. A rupture in the very fabric of reality."

Mirror

The vast majority of sounds in this piece are from acoustic sources, consisting of dozens of assorted pieces of metal and glass being bowed, rubbed, scraped, struck, and/or plucked. These were collected over several years, and include glockenspiel, saw, wine glasses, and meditation bells, along with various parts harvested from old computers, printers, rotary phones, bicycles, doorbells, lamps, kitchen appliances, etc.

This one is the thawing of frozen water, biodata collected as it warms. The midi accelerated as the water melted.
