It was released through the iTunes Store without prior announcement on February 13, 2015, by Cash Money Records. There was a debate whether this project is a mixtape or a studio album, as it was released commercially through his record label, while Drake himself has referred to the project as a mixtape. If You're Reading This It's Too Late debuted at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling 37,000 copies in its first week.[28] The mixtape also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 535,000 copies in total, 495,000 of which consisted of traditional whole album sales.[29] The mixtape was also streamed 17.3 million times on Spotify, breaking Drake's own record that was made with Nothing Was the Same‍ '​s debut week.[30] Because of the mixtape, Drake also became the first rapper to top Billboard‍ '​s Artist 100 chart.[31] It is currently 2015's best-selling digital album and second best-selling overall album in the United States, having sold 991,000 copies as of August.[32][33]

I may have came across his music only a year ago, but Lil Dicky has become one of my more refreshing artists in this bloated cesspool of trap sensibilities, aggressively sexual R&B and the like. With an interesting mix of "average Joe" humor to sometimes mask his dense lyricism, many have been clamoring for Dicky to release his debut project, Professional Rapper for a while now.

Now it appears that fans will get what they've been hoping for. Dicky has announced that his long-in-the-works debut album now has a targeted release date of July 31st. Professional Rapper will be a 16-track affair, which will contain the previous drops "Lemme Freak," "White Crime" and "Classic Male Pregame."

After dropping his mixtape So Hard in 2013, and cultivating a rabid fan base with his blend of rap and comedy, Lil Dicky has dedicated the last two-years tediously honing his craft as a lyricist, and is ready to be taken seriously as an emcee. "I really ended up falling in love with rap in the process and I don't see myself going away from it anytime soon," Dicky said in a recent interview. "The mixtape to me felt like a comedian who is really good at rapping, whereas I think my debut album feels like a good rapper who's funny. It's subtle but there's a difference." Professional Rapper will showcase Dicky - whose influences include JAY Z and Drake - as an evolved and confident lyricist with skills that have caught the attention of some heavy-hitters in the rap game. "I have some great collaborations on the album and a couple of them will probably shock a lot of people. I'm excited to see how my fans will react when it's time to reveal the line-up."

Compton (also known as Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre and formerly known as Detox[2]) is the third studio album by American hip hop recording artist Dr. Dre. It was released on August 7, 2015 on Apple Music and the iTunes Store, with the physical editions released on August 21, 2015.[3] It is the follow-up to his second album 2001 (1999) and the cancellation of Detox.

Pound Syndrome is the fourth studio album by American rapper Hopsin. It was released on July 24, 2015. The title of the album is a loose pun on the term down syndrome, a common genetic disorder that causes intellectual impairment and physical abnormalities. The album has spawned three singles: "Ill Mind Of Hopsin 7", "Crown Me" and "Fly”. 
Release and promotion[edit]

Hopsin has stated in multiple interviews that the album is an "improvement" over his previous releases in terms of quality.[4][5] On May 27, 2015, an interview was released on Sway Calloway's YouTube channel, touching on his appearance at Soundset Music Festival, and announcing that Pound Syndrome would be released on July 24. In the interview, he said that this is "definitely the best album that [he's] ever created, hands down."[6] On July 8, 2015, Hopsin released the album's track listing.[7]

Singles[edit]

On July 18, 2014, Hopsin released "Ill Mind Of Hopsin 7" five months prior to the announcement of Pound Syndrome.[8] The song sparked controversy, as Hopsin details his lost faith in religion, and the connections between religion, history and governance.[9][10] The song charted on number 46 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songsand number 27 on Hot Rap Songs, and gained 1 million views on YouTube its opening day of release.

On June 1, 2015, Hopsin released "Crown Me" as the official lead single from the album with an accompanying music video.[11][12]

"Fly" was released as the second single from the album on July 8, 2015.[13]
