Thumping beats and shimmering melodies bounce off cobbled streets and historic facades while a network of canals tell their own history in a city imbued with music old and new. Along the Damrak, a kaleidoscopic array or clubs vie for attention in a mesmerising display of sonic brilliance. Moving towards the stars and an inky black night sky, temporary feelings of tension and worry are unburdened in the Amsterdam nightlife, evaporating into the ether on the rising refrains of low-end vibrancy and rippling musical waves. Juicebox Music's 77th release sees Maze 28 making his return to the label with his latest single - "Cry of the Deserts". The Albanian rising star first made his debut on Juicebox Music through "Abyss Rhythm", his contribution to the 2nd edition of our 'Fables' compilation. Better known to his friends and family as Mario Zefi, Maze 28 has been on a hot-streak with chart-topping releases on Mango's 'Mango Alley' & Paul Thomas' 'UV', as well as winning Breeder's "Tyrantanic" remix competition, alongside Freedo Mosho, on the seminal Hooj Choons. We're excited to present his latest offering "Cry of the Deserts", an Arabian-inspired track with his signature chunky bassline, driving groove & ethnic hooks.

We called upon one of our core artists for the first remix. Enter Aman Anand, the Indian artist based in Singapore, who's made 5 appearances on our imprint since 2016, including a collaboration with label-boss Praveen Achary with "Fiasco". Aman Anand's influences range across the board from Electronica to Progressive House to Deep Techno, culminating in a unique sound that truly reflects his vision, earning him releases on Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Frankie Vertigo's 'My Secret Agenda', Bondarev's 'WARPP' & many more. His remix of Maze 28's "Cry of the Deserts" flips the mood on it's head and heads towards the darker & hypnotic side.

The final remix comes from a collaboration between two label debutants - Molac & Nicolas Viana. The Ecuador-based artist Alan Gonzalez (aka Molac) & Argentinian-based artist Nicolas Viana, both a part of the Sendas Music Collective recently started working together. Individually, they've both seen incredible success whether it's Molac's music on Lee Burridge's 'All Day I Dream' or Nicolas Viana's music on Gorje Hewek's 'Peace Symphonies' or both on MODD's 'Amulanga' & MOS's 'Melody of the Soul'. Their organic-infused and progressive-inspired styles perfectly merged into one, as showcased via their remix of Maze 28's "Cry of the Deserts".

"Denn es ist wie es ist" was the first song I released o BluFin Records, a fine label from Cologne. Always loved it although some of the production sounded dated after all these years.
So when label head honchess Andrea asked me for an exclusive track for her 10 Years anniversary compilation, it was an obvious choice to do a rework of "Denn es ist wie es ist".
I hope you like it as much as I do.
