Lovebirds is the first loop i’ve ever made when i bought my first guitar looper, the Boss RC-2. it unlocked a door for me musically as i was previously unable to execute all the sounds in my head onto the guitar, given that i wasn’t technically good enough to play rhythm, bass and melody on the guitar simultaneously. i’ve tried fleshing this out into a full song ever since, but came to the conclusion that nothing really could replace the raw feel of the initial loopbox recording. in some ways this loop is the first track i’ve ever produced, so i’ve decided to release this as is, with minimal post work, to celebrate old beginnings and look forward to new ones to come.

🎧 Horizon Terminal Pilot Sessions pt5 🎧 This one almost didn’t happen. We always wanted to remix the Thong Song by Sisqó but never thought we had the right instrumental for it, including this one. When we drafted this beat we just thought we’d give it a shot, but didn’t have high hopes cuz the bpm was so much slower and the vibe was much more different. But now that this is done, we’re really happy the way it turned out, and invite yall to briefly relive the golden era that is the late 90’s with us with a Horizon Terminal twist.

The Horizon Terminal Pilot Sessions is a weekly series where we flip a classic hip hop track together in one night over Skype. We both got into producing over a decade ago by practicing with old acapellas so we wanted to honor our roots together with this project.

Horizon Terminal formed in Hong Kong during the spring of 2018 and is comprised of Aaron and Jonny. We wanted to reflect our love for Hong Kong and Hip Hop. Though Aaron moved back to Victoria, Canada, to support his mother’s battle with cancer, we continued making music. We named ourselves Horizon Terminal, referring to a space and time beyond the present where all like minds can convene.
