For Danish native and much-revered producer/performer Rune Reilly KÖLSCH, Kompakt has proven the perfect home curating his music: with two critically acclaimed albums and a now classic run of solo instalments in our Speicher 12” series, he took his techno craftsmanship to new levels, setting it on a melodic, emotive and even autobiographical course - without loosing any of its punch and quirkiness. With new full-length 1989, Kölsch presents the final chapter of an elegant, anthemic album trilogy that started with an exploration of early childhood memories and influences on “1977” (KOM 276 CD 107) - the year of his birth – and continued on “1983” KOM 329 CD 122), a vibrant and picturesque journey sound tracking the year he travelled through Europe aged six.

Since making his label debut on Explorations 07 in 2018, Marsh has solidified himself as a budding label favourite and future star. Championed by the likes of Joris Voorn, Kolsch, and Phil Taggart at BBC Radio 1, Marsh now continues his impressive run with the ‘Eu Topos’ EP.

Marsh’s tapestry of melodic sound-design is on full show, characteristically weaving driving bass and groove-laden percussion in ‘Eu Topos’ and ’Sit Tight’, and demonstrating his penchant for nostalgic melodies in ‘Joy’. Another fantastic standalone release, ‘Eu Topos’ signals some big things to come for 2020.

Enamour & Nox Vahn - Sleep Paralysis ft. GNTN Remix

Premiere: Enamour & Nox Vahn - Sleep Paralysis [Yoshitoshi]

After making a massive debut with Rinzen last year on Yoshitoshi, Enamour is back with another collaborator, Nox Vahn, for a special two track EP, which includes a remix from German up-and-comers GNTN. Enamour and Nox Vahn deliver two enormous originals that would sound as fitting in Black Rock City as in Watergate. The title track is built around giant pad swells and complex, percussive grooves which take their time to envelop you in an astounding mixture of sound and space. “Dilemma” is a bit deeper, making use of a catchy, Phrygian-based melody that is equal parts exotic and exciting. It’s the perfect playa track and is sure to be all over BPM and Tulum this year. Finally, GNTN rounds things out with a swirling remix of “Sleep Paralysis,” turning the original into a more laid-back groover for building energy. We’re very excited to kick off 2020 with Enamour back on Yoshitoshi and with Nox Vahn and GNTN making their label debuts. Enjoy!
