Wilkinson released his brand new single ‘Afterglow’ on Monday and it has stormed the charts, debuting at #8. His eagerly anticipated debut album Lazers Not Included follows on the 28th October, via RAM / Virgin EMI. 

Wilkinson, has been on unstoppable form this year. His current single ‘Afterglow’ is all over the airwaves, since premiering as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In The World last month. ‘Afterglow’, a soulful and spine-tingling track, stuffed with trademark bass, is now A-List at Radio 1 and playlisted at Capital Radio. Wilkinson recently did a stand out Live Lounge show for Fearne Cotton on Radio 1. 

Lazers Not Included will be sure to stamp Wilkinson’s name in the faces of a worldwide audience. Blessed with an astute A&R ear, Wilkinson has enlisted some of the freshest UK vocal talent to appear on his debut. As well as P Money, Arlissa and Becky Hill, Wilkinson also teams up with Iman and Detour City. Some of these will join Wilkinson when he headlines RAM Records night at Brixton Academy on November 1st with Andy C. 

Unified by Wilkinson’s sharp production skills that earned him a ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ award at the National D&B awards, ‘Lazers Not Included’ is filled with an undeniable quality that has seen Wilkinson top the iTunes Electronic Chart and earn Radio 1 champions in the form of MistaJam, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw and Zane Lowe, and a ‘Record of the Week’ from Sara Cox.

When he signed to Hospital Records in 2004 Logistics made his mark with classic EPs like ‘Space Jam’, ‘Release The Pressure’ and ‘Wide Lens’. Now the Hospital heavyweight and connoisseur of soulful drum & bass, presents his four-track ‘Waveforms’ EP. The first in a brand new series that takes it back to where it all began. 

Opening the EP is the title-track ‘Waveforms’, a warm dose of the classic Logistics sound. Its big rolling basslines and uplifting vocals make this reminiscent of his anthemic tracks ‘Together’ and ‘Everlasting Days’.

Dipping into darker territory is ‘Ancestors’. Hypnotic, piercing sonics rattle around the body with steppy kicks to boot. On a similar wavelength comes ‘Rhythm Track’ - a 2019 tint on the original jungle roots. These two tracks are indisputable evidence that Logistics knows his way around the rougher side of D+B, as well as his smooth liquid melodies. Coming full circle is ‘Oslo’ with graceful harmonics and soothing instrumentation.

With nine studio albums and an impressive back-catalogue of singles and EPs under his belt, Logistics has become one of the most prolific artists in drum & bass. He’s garnered support from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Rene LaVice, as well as 6Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs. 

He’s one of the most well-respected producers and DJs in the scene and this year he’ll be heading to flagship drum & bass events such as the all-day festival Hospitality In The Park in London, on the shores of Sardina for Sun & Bass, ADE and many more around the globe.

The world of classic reggae, dancehall and bashment collides with drum & bass for a set of stellar remixes on the ‘Jet Star Meets Hospital’ compilation. The album features sixteen first-class reworks from London Electricity, S.P.Y, Danny Byrd, Nu:Tone, Urbandawn and more; all taking a 170BPM step-out on iconic reggae artists such as Barrington Levy, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Beenie Man, Horace Andy and more.

From dancehall classic to dancefloor banger, Hospital mainstay and esteemed soul-selector Nu:Tone applies his production savviness to Barrington Levy’s seminal reggae anthem, ‘Here I Come'. Stimulated from the ground up with a warm, rolling bassline and kitted out with skittering amens to boot.

Fresh from his huge cover of the Beatles classic ‘Come Together’, Urbandawn steps into the fold with an utterly outrageous, monster remix of Chaka Demus’ ‘Forward & Pull Up’. This one speaks for itself, in Urbandawn’s trademark punchy, crunchy style.

The album is also the original home for Benny L’s infamous John Holt ‘Police In Helicopter’ remix, which shot to Beatport’s #1 spot across all genres, making both drum & bass and Beatport history.

The 'Jet Star Meets Hospital' project is the collaborative workings of the legendary reggae label Jet Star and leading drum & bass imprint Hospital Records. From 'V Classic' to 'Planet V' and beyond, the V Recordings camp have been scene leaders in creating era-defining, zeitgeist-capturing compilations. And, following on from the retrospective 'Foundation' project, it's now time for another chapter in the story - 'Future'

Bryan Gee, widely known as one of the most influential selectors and A&R men in the business, has taken his time to compile and curate something that's more than just another album. This is Bryan's personal vision of what's to come, not only for the V brand, but for Drum & Bass music as a whole.
Never swayed by fashions, fads and sub-genre divisions, Bryan and Jumpin Jack Frost's family of labels have been a benchmark for quality from time immemorial. So, when they call this album 'Future', that comes with authority.

For V Recordings, the future is as much about building on what's come before as it is about brand new innovations. So, we see contemporary masters like Benny L, Voltage and L-Side pay homage to the classics with remixes of Roni Size, Ray Keith, Krust and Dillinja. Artificial Intelligence go back in on their anthem 'Uprising' to give it a cutting-edge reconfiguration, and Dr Meaker's 'Fighter' gets the S.P.Y treatment.

Then there are the 2020 visions of artists from across the spectrum of Drum & Bass music. The likes of Alibi, Paul T & Edward Oberon, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, DJ Marky & Dirtbag, Bladerunner, Zero T, Command Strange, Carlito & Addiction, Jonny L & Need for Mirrors deliver darkness and light, savagery and euphoria, musicality and hype in equal measure. And that's just scratching the surface.

The future that this album sets out before us is one where pigeon-holes and categories are unimportant. Certified legends rub shoulders with breakthrough artists. Heavyweight dancefloor bangers co-exist with soulfully melodic flavours. This music is unified, not by style or by marketability, but purely by the vibe. If that's what a V Recordings future looks like, we can relax. The scene is in safe hands.
