the best names in drum and bass. Hailing from Madrid, Spain, the one and only KUNG is set
to drop a highly anticipated release that has been two years in the making.

A heavyweight in the scene, KUNG has built a rock-solid reputation with an impressive back
catalogue of releases on some of the most respected labels in the game, including Eatbrain,
Ram Records, Surveillance Music, C4C, Critical, Citrus, and Close 2 Death. Now, in 2025, he
finally makes his mark on Dirtbox Recordings with an explosive two-track release titled
"Self-Fight" and "Poise".

This release signifies more than just a debut—it marks KUNG’s return to a carefully curated
schedule of music for the new year. With his signature style of production, dark atmospherics,
and thundering energetic sounds, these two tracks are primed to shake the foundations of any club.

1/ Kung “Self-Fight”

kickstarting the release is a masterclass in dark, rolling drum & bass, embodying Kungs
signature eerie sound design and deep, grumbling basslines. Unlike many of his previous
works, this track opens with a surprisingly uplifting yet haunting intro—an unexpected
contrast that sets the stage for the darkness to come.

As the drop hits, "Self-Fight" transforms into a relentless force, exuding the unmistakable
energy of classic Renegade Hardware releases while still maintaining Kung’s modern,
polished production techniques. The bass growls and warps beneath some heavily
processed percussion, creating a hypnotic groove that’s tailor-made for murky underground
dancefloors.

2/ Kung “Poise”

"Poise" kicks off with a techno-infused intro that immediately brings to mind the classic
sounds of Raiden and Offkey Records.

The pulsating rhythm and ominous atmosphere set the stage for something dark and
brooding, but as the track unfolds, Kung’s signature style takes the reins.

The transition is seamless—grumbling, distorted basslines creep in, punctuated by
noticeable sound effects that inject energy into the track. The production maintains a
balance between eerie tension and forward-driving momentum, embodying the futuristic,
dystopian aesthetic that defines the entire release.

With its blend of techno influences, haunting textures, and raw, unrelenting bass, "Poise" is
a perfect example of Kung’s ability to merge past inspirations with his own cutting-edge
approach to drum & bass.
