Why ?

There lies two sides to every story, a woman can be both a blessing or a damning curse upon a life. When she is around all can seem logical, pure and peaceful, yet there lies a sinister undertone to the way in which she has charasmatically charmed and cursed your days in such a way. There are moments of great happiness, love, joy and wonder yet they can be turned in the blink of an eye into a stormy whirlwind of loathesome, cold hearted desperation. When a woman is around all can change, all can change. 

David Holmes, Keefus Ciancia and Jade Vincent make up Unloved. Inspired by film scores, the rebellious mentality of 60's girl groups and beyond, they cast quite a presence. Sexy, sinister and exciting. Here is the Andrew Weatherall remix of 'When a Woman Is Around' which will be available as a 12" on RSD 2016.

‘Unloved’ is new cinematic-inspired project of acclaimed DJ, producer and Novello Award winning film scorer, David Holmes (programming & percussion) alongside True Detective TV composer Keefus Cancia (keyboards & programming) and the sultry LA songwriter Jade Vincent (vocals).

‘This Is The Time’ (with lyrics written by BP Fallon) is taken from ‘Unloved’s recently released debut album ‘Guilty Of Love’ that is a modern take on a previously analogue era. ‘Unloved’s new single is raw 60’s pop-noir psychedelia with a contemporary and edgy twist.

Holmes says of ‘This Is The Time’, “While living in LA I had an unexpected but welcome visit by the legend who is BP Fallon. I've always thought of BP as a wordsmith so I asked him would be interested in trying to write something for the album. ‘This Is The Time’ was one of his ideas that we recorded in Vox studios in LA but instead of a lead vocal we decided to get all 5 girls including Jade Vincent that were contributing to sing it in unison.”
