Having recently reached Beatport number one with ‘Urban Shaker’, Manchester-based DJ/producer Sam Curran readies three new productions for Jamie Jones’ renowned Hottrax this April. Gaining previous support from Jamie Jones, Sidney Charles, and Franky Rizardo, Curran is back with another bass-heavy production that ensures an impressive return to the label. 

The title cut ‘Twilight On The Terrace’ brings rolling low end and playful vocal interjections that create a rousing club track, while the bumping ‘Eric’s Rumble’ showcases a reverberating bassline in true Hottrax style, paired with dizzying drops and wonky stabs. Closing out the EP ‘NRG’ harnesses crisp hats, snaking bass grooves, and moody, infectious samples to journey deep into late-night territories. 

“I made this EP in the hope of replicating some of the feelings I’ve felt on the dance floor with my own twist. The title track especially is inspired by the early 90s acid scene and the euphoric moments that came with it.” - Sam Curran

Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Creations welcomes a loaded new EP as Andre Salmon, Michael Joseph and Lexlay collaborate across four tracks for their ‘Momii’ EP.

Home to stand-out collaborations such as Todd Terry and Riva Starr’s recent ‘This Is The Sound’ through to classics such as Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers’ ‘Bappi’, Hot Creations has always been a platform and label pairing unique and exciting artist combinations with impressive results. Closing July, the label now invites a stacked selection of artists for a big collaborative release as label signee Andre Salmon returns for his second release on the imprint and combines with
Orlando’s Michael Joseph and Barcelona’s Lexlay for their four-track ‘Momii’ EP - featuring Figio, Francis Davila and Cami Jones.

“As you may listen and feel, each song has a different groove, but all four songs perfectly balance nice techy and housey flavours to build an EP for the crowd and audience. All the tracks are improvisations. I love to share music and projects with my friends, which happened here. I sent something to Michael and Lexlay, while Figio’s and Francis Davila also sent me something - teamwork with friends is always dope! This release was inspired by the vocals, honestly. I wrote them all around the vocals, just jammin’ around and trying different stuff! This release means a lot to me because it is the second on Hot Creations, which is hard to get. I’m glad to be able to always talk with Jamie about my songs. Jamie has always inspired me and is always open to share feedback to see what’s the best for the release, so here’s to working towards a third!” - Andre Salmon.

The three main featured artists take the helm on the title track ‘Momii’ for a skippy and slick lead effort, while Salmon and Joseph link with Milan’s Figio’s for the snaking, percussion-driven ‘Aquarium’. Next, the three lead names unite once more and combine rumbling low-ends and lively hats on the bubbling ‘Left Hand’, before Salmon and Joseph once again link with fresh talent as Francis Davila joins the party, working warping synths and rolling drums around the alluring vocals of Cami Jones.

Funk Cartel bring their rave-ready sounds to Hottrax with the three-track ‘Discotexx EP’. 

Brothers Blame Rory and Kimono Cam have quickly risen through the ranks with releases on the likes of Etiquette and Deeperfect, as well as running their own THUNDR imprint. The taste-making duo now step up for Jamie Jones's always-on-point Hottrax with three robust and richly detailed cuts. 

'Discotexx' kicks off with freaky vocals, sci-fi sonic details and plenty of effects that make the track irresistible. The superb 'Higher' is another slice of dance floor dynamite, with a fluid bassline combined with addictive grooves for a spaced-out, futuristic track. Last but not least is 'Feel It,' another full flavour cut with punchy drum programming, trippy vocal fragments, and whirring sounds taking it into cosmic realms.
