Solid Grooves has built a strong following of loyal fans over the years. Starting out as an event series, the London based brand has since achieved global success including a prevalent Ibiza residency last year. Launching as a label in 2015, it wasn’t long before Solid Grooves Records topped Beatport’s overall charts with Wade’s remix of Dennis Cruz ‘See Line’ and cemented its reputation as an infallible imprint, releasing music from names such as Kuo Climax, ONNO, David Pher and Brett Gould.

Dennis Cruz leads the way with ‘Fake’, a vocal focused track with throbbing bass, chopped up samples and infectious percussive components before Franz Costa’s ‘Kate’ blends a medley of intricate rhythmic elements for a trippy low-slung production.

The label co-founders are up next, with Michael Bibi unleashing a roaring low-end in ‘Devil’s Candy’ whilst a spoken word sample operates through, making way for PAWSA’s ‘Taking Over’ – an atmospheric house track geared for powerful subs featuring dub inspired stabs and sharp hats. Reelow then concludes the package, demonstrating his signature style with a cacophony of percussion and mesmerizing effects.

Following on from last year’s Bump It EP, Sammy W Tobus join musical
forces once again, this time with a fiery three-part offering for Hot Creations.
Acid Terrace opens the EP - a rumbling roller that cuts a fierce groove
complimented by intriguing vocal samples. Shake It plunges in full power with its
heavy-hitting bassline and rhythmic beat. Closing the package, Jam Tight is a funky
number that chops and blends vocals alongside pads, adding classic house
elements that create a solid, dancefloor burner.

The pairing of Sammy W & Tobus first came to our attention back in 2011. Their
fresh approach to DJ sets has garnered support from some of the scene’s top DJs.
They seamlessly blend and blur the lines between genres, creating their own sound
using elements of tech-house, funk and hip-hop. They’ve released music on 8bit,
Repopulate Mars, Roush, Mr. Nice Guy, Brock Wild, as well as running their own
labels Tobus X and Tobus Limited.

German duo Raumakustik are next up on Hot Creations with Animal / Waves, a stunning two track release that features a re-edit from label frontman Jamie Jones.

Animal starts proceedings, as a bouncing reverberating kick gives way to a synth-filled build up. An echoing vocal sample states “acid feel”, before hitting once again with a choppy, swinging bassline. Next up, Jamie Jones delivers a re-edit of Waves, featuring tinny hi-hats, hollow pops and a bouncing arcade build up that is guaranteed to cause a stir on any dancefloor.

Having released their Raider EP on sub-label Hot Trax and Dem A Pree on Emerald City, Raumakustik make their first appearance on Hot Creations. Respected producers in the house and techno scenes, they have also released on the likes of Suara, Toolroom and Microtonal Records. Jamie Jones is someone who needs little introduction. Founder of Hot Creations as well as the Paradise event series, there are few feats left for the Welshman to conquer. Countless esteemed releases coupled with a passion-lead vision have seen Jones become a true master of his craft.

Wheats’ obsession with the timeless Acid bassline sound started at a very early age so he was naturally buzzing to have got himself a real Roland TB-303. Spending hours twiddling the knobs of the iconic little silver box, Wheats soon came up with the piercing bassline groove for ‘Bad Klub’  The punchy weight of ‘Bad Klub’ hits you from the onset, gathering support from heavyweights like Jamie Jones, Nic Fanciulli, Hot Since 82 and Calvin Harris for his previous releases, his distinct studio ability becomes clear on the first listen. The glossy, writhing acid line meets stompin’ kicks and a stratospheric build-up that will induce serious euphoric club coma’s.  ‘Lunas Mood’ on the B is inspired by Wheats’ extended summer of hanging at Paradise DC10, the iconic house club at the bottom of Ibiza airport’s runway on the Balearic island. His selection of gliding sub-bass lines over a stripped-back collection of tasteful drum grooves sets a beautiful tone for those wee hours of serious clubbing. Taking us on a journey with his trippy delays, off-key vocal snippets and cheeky laser fills this one will do proper damage to the clubs in 2020.

Co-owned by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, groundbreaking independent dance label Hot Creations has gained global notoriety in recent years through pioneering a new and unique sound born of its founders deep affinity with old disco records and soulful beats. 2013 will see the duo take their label to even greater planes upon the major label release of their band Hot Natured’s truly unique debut album and a mile long waiting list of incredible music from incredibly successful talent such as Digitaria, Greg Pidcock, Richy Ahmed, Robert James and wAFF.
