Italian artist Samuele Scelfo is next to land on Hot Creations with his two-track release My Father in Ibiza 1988, which is inspired by his father’s unique vinyl collection that he bought on the White Isle almost thirty years ago. Samuele explains that “dedicating the EP to him was the least I could do.” 

First up is Hygge, a trippy affair with prominent and infectious vocal hooks. Samuele reveals “when I made Hygge I wanted to create a stylish atmosphere that reminds me of the late 80s, with iconic toms and synths that balance the female vocal. Once I made those main sounds, I created the low end and the drums to let the track perform well in a club scenario.” Next up, Don't Mess is a heavy-duty roller made for the late night dance floor. “For this track, I brought out my darker side. I really wanted to reach Jamie Jones’ strange and unique sounds, combined with a hammering groove and a synth, which drives the listener throughout the record.” 

Born in Florence, Samuele Scelfo has always been a lover of music. As a full time resident at Morositas Club in Siena (Italy), within a few years he brought his sound to some of the best Italian and European clubs, sharing the booth with many of the greatest artists in the underground scene. His releases can be found on influential labels such as Relief, Elrow Music, Snatch!, Müse, Deeperfect and Wow! Recordings. He also has an army of supporters that include Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Green Velvet, Matthias Tanzmann, Lee Foss, Michael Bibi, Gorgon City and many others.

Ali Love debuts on Hot Creations as he partners with Prince Andre for the vibrant ‘Da Da On’. 

An artist with a rich history within modern house music and longstanding ties to Hot Creations, Ali Love makes his  solo debut on the label with collaborator and Brazilian rapper Prince Andre. Ali takes on production duties here,  and the result is a pretty unique slice of Brazilian hip house. ‘Da Da On’ brings a driving bassline, samba inspired  percussion, whistles, and Prince Andre’s effervescent rhymes. This is an explosion of energy built for Carnaval. The  dub highlights the track’s rolling drums and Carnaval atmosphere. Remixes are to follow.

One of the premier songwriters of contemporary UK dance music, Ali Love has released material via Crosstown  Rebels, Keinemusik, and Defected in recent times, and collaborated with The Chemical Brothers, Justice,  Camelphat and Róisín Murphy, amongst many others. It was, of course, on Hot Creations, where Ali collaborated  with Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Luca C as Hot Natured, and whose ‘Benediction’ has now become a  contemporary dance music classic. This is Ali Love’s long-awaited return to the imprint. 

Ali Love comments: “This is the first solo record I’ve released without my lead vocals, so I think it shows that I’m  more than just a vocalist. I was a session musician way before I even started singing, and I’ve always produced my  own solo music. It’s also the first record I’ve released on Hot Creations since ‘Benediction’, and it was wicked to  A&R the tune with Jamie at the end. His feedback resulted in the tunes massive samba drum breakdown (JJ  beatboxed the samba drum idea down the phone!) then me and my co- producer Freek re-created it using his voice  mail as the guide. It started off as a laugh but in the end it really took the track to the next level. 

The whole track is a family affair. My girlfriend Naomi is Brazilian, and we took our baby girl (Juno Love) to Brazil  for the first time to meet the family. The vocalist is actually my girlfriend’s youngest brother (one of 6 boys). He’s an  amazing rapper from Bahia. We recorded in Florianópolis and then in Bahia at the actor Fabricio Boliveira's pad  (another family member), with all the cousins doing background vox. A lot of fun, and it came together so quickly.  You can feel the heat in the music. It was also the perfect way to meet all the family and mark the occasion with  something tangible.”

London’s Michael Bibi returns to his Solid Grooves imprint with a rumbling two tracker plus a remix from Zürich based producer Sabb.

Despite launching just a year ago, Michael Bibi and PAWSA’s Solid Grooves Records has firmly placed itself as one of the most exciting new labels in the scene. What started out as a UK event series has swiftly developed into a weekly sell-out event in Ibiza and a hotbed for releases from artists such as Dennis Cruz, Wade, ONNO and Reflow.

Kicking off the package is ‘Be Mine’ with its punchy snares, disembodied bleeps and a soulful male vox, before ‘Pressure’ delivers rhythmic percussion, hypnotic vocals and a rumbling low end. In Sabb’s remix of ‘Be Mine’ the Moon Harbour and Saved producer immediately lays down a groove possessed by energy that runs alongside distorted samples and infectious hats.

Jamie Jones joins forces with New York’s David Berrie for an electrifying two track release on Hot Creations. Doctor Zouk is the result of a friendship spanning many years, and is set to be unleashed this Autumn.

Title track Doctor Zouk is a bumpy, chuggy roller with a prominent percussive break and heady tribal undertone. Future Society uses thumping drum pads over a growling bassline with unmistakable high hats weaved together over futuristic synths.

Jamie Jones is one of the industry’s most in demand and recognised DJs. He heads up one of Ibiza’s most treasured parties, Paradise at DC10, and now takes it to all corners of the globe. His revered Hot Creations imprint has put out more than one hundred releases as well as playing a major part in launching the careers of Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed and Detlef.

Spending his formative years in New York, sneaking into the city’s diverse and flamboyant nightclubs and heavily influenced by a broad spectrum of genres, it wasn’t long before David Berrie took to the turntables. He released on Jones’ Hottrax label last year and has had a number of releases on Nervous and Monique Sp é ciale. He commands regular slots at BPM festival as well as at the Paradise nights.
