Dipping our toes back into our less aggressive side, UK Garage don @on1uk joins us for KIX012 - Since joining us for our event in 2019, On1 has appeared on Rinse FM, Mode fm and Subtle Radio to name a few, he has pushed a few of his releases onto wax and definitely shows promise in both his productions and live sets in the future.

London based, Birmingham born, he's been making a name for himself in the garage scene the past year or two thanks to his high energy sets and moody productions. Taking a lot of inspiration from pioneers such as El-B, Zed Bias, Steve Gurly (just to name a few) during the period where UK garage music was getting progressively darker, On1 is fully immersed in the culture this movement brought forward. This sound massively influenced his productions and still does. By blending infectious and skippy 2-step percussion with powerful gritty basslines you know when he's on the buttons.

Kicking off the imprint in style, ‘Skin’ employs a well-loved vocal set to a skittering 2-step groove, chopping bars against subtly melodic keys and intricately deployed percussion, before then letting the rhythm hit you in a 4x4 switch-up on the second drop to really raise the roof.

‘Got My Self Together’ mines similar soulful material, pitching a diva vocal sample alongside soothing chords and glittering FX to mesmerizing effect.

‘Hold Me Down’ alters the template again with a summertime jam complete with sensual vocals, bubbling basslines and a classic UKG beat that brings the whole track together beautifully.
