Pour ce premier épisode nous revenons non sans emotion sur le parcours iconique d'un groupe lyonnais mythique des années 90. Trois anciens membres de l'aventure Bougnoul Smala nous ont accordé une bonne heure pour revenir sur l'épopée la plus crapuleuse du rap lyonnais, une époque encore mysterieuse pour le grand public, mais légendaire pour tout lyonnais impliqué dans la culture à cette époque. Godspeed, an eclectic six-track EP that explores the different facets of global bass music
to bring a new experimental and radical post-club touch to French pop music. Framboise's
sensual vocals and incisive flows merge with indus-tribal beats tinged from gqom to
hardcore drums and IDM textures. The EP features “DESPOTE/FROST” a collaboration
with Kenyan producer Slikback and ‘CHAV” with the London-based Franco-Chinese
rapper LK de l'Hotel Moscou.
Avant-garde Kenyan producer Slikback and Parisian duo SMT3X join forces to create
"DESPOTE/FROST", a hybrid, experimental track at the crossroads between French rap
and apocalyptic post- club. SMT3X and Slikback draw on the vitality of their respective
origins (Iran, Italy, Kenya) to produce an abrupt, uncompromising sound. Their rhythms
are sometimes tribal, sometimes industrial, and their music could be likened to that of
artists such as Kavari, Arca and Amnesia Scanner.
SMT3X, a Paris based duo, an italo-goth girl from the French Riviera - and Guiv - a
nerd-persian producer. Their sound will be as hot headed as the energy of Naples and as
chaotic as the endless arteries of Tehran, southern Europe and a ghetto-gothic version of
the Middle East, a dark and sexy deconstructed club music. SMT3X enjoys pushing the
boundaries of rap and French songs : horny lyrics and Grime flows blend with elements
borrowed from hardcore, IDM, and GQOM, resulting in something brutal and caliente.
