ideas, ideology, the reasons for my belief, root myself in something deep, the inside makes me feel alive to reason with myself, myself… 

down to the last of the woods of winter,
burns at the bones of tree trunks,
all that’s left on my collection wheel,
just days before i am to leave,
who knows the truth?

soon i’ll be driving in my car, again, on that old dirt country road to the city…

i looked around the places i loved which was all around me,
i felt safe and i feel safe here now

holes in the farmland floor,
my son, i can stare at the roots of trees,
it’s like i’m digging in deep for what? and maybe i need it,
i’ve got the answer and the realization was like a bell, i tell you, my son,
not even nothing you know i am something, i am someone like it’s so serious,
my ego knows something now…

it’s the strongest idea of identity,
i am in control and drunk on pride…
