Incoming from Vancouver B.C., acclaimed producers @agimat_iha and @captivatebeats have teamed up for a new offering under their combined alias, xlbb.

The two-track EP is a primordial display of the PNW sound, bubbling with organic textures and tectonic subsonics. Loosejaw washes in and ripples across auricular surfaces with tidal bass frequencies. Melonboat, with waveforms soaked in salt, propagates fuzzy foliage with the blossomed energy of coastal overgrowth, teeming with life.

Whether he's a well-known producer working incognito or a new face in the scene, Echoes Of October makes every effort to unite genres in his melodic techno tracks. Mind The Black Moon is his first release on Ardor and it features two solo productions, a collaboration and a remix, all four delivering a euphoric sensation. The release is an innovated collection of emotional sounds that's not tethered to any specific style. 

The A-Side opener 'Black Moon' floats cosmic arpeggios over a polished bassline, followed by dark synth-sirens and a hypnotic delayed vocal loop. The second solo 'Confusion' sounds like it's been taken out of a deep freeze, with crisp, piercing details. It builds up on a rolling synth line into a mystic spoken vocal before things take an uprising turn ending in a main theme melody like a chainsaw. 

Hotflush Recordings and Life And Death rostered artist Locked Groove's remix of 'Confusion' transforms many of the original elements into another sphere. Delayed bells and hats, a driving drummed bassline, additional soft strings and vocals will lead into losing yourself and drift away. 

Last but not least, 'Perseo' completes this release with the collaboration of the Italian-based talent and Be Free label head honcho Jäger. The deepest thread on this EP glides along in airy percussive chugs and rides on endless arpeggio variations. The stretched arc of suspense finds its finale with a non-expected deep toned piano stab.

Next up to add his sounds to the Hotflush cannon is Argentina’s
Shall Ocin. He serves up The Cliff/The Mist, a two track EP that showcases his knack for infectious groove in all its glory.

The man born Nicolas Abalos has released music under a number of aliases over the last decade plus, but it is as Shall Ocin that he has had most success. Putting out music on labels like Culprit and Ellum Audio, he has established himself amongst contemporary tastemakers and here cements his reputation with a great debut on Hotflush.

Opening the account is the excellent ’The Cliff,’ a steely main room house track with grinding synths that roam and whir about above weighty bass. It’s a physical, arresting track that brims and bristles with apocalyptic fervour and will truly work
crowds into a lather as it continues to build. ‘The Mist’ is much more in your face, with malfunctioning machines smeared about above metal drums. It’s a real writhing monster that twists and turns with great filter work making for the most dramatic of
atmospheres.

This texturally rich, maximalist EP makes a fine new singing for the UK label and is another great entry into Ocin’s increasingly essential discography.

Hotflush is a record label launched by Paul Rose aka Scuba in 2003. Its early period was spent as a central part of London's Bass Music scene which exploded in the mid 2000s, although the label has always been difficult to pigeonhole musically and recent output has focused on Techno and House.
