When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Today we concentrate on his more melodic alias and under the name Floorplan, Hood has released a stunning album showcasing a slightly different yet equally strong sound.

A new EP is set to drop featuring two re-edits of tracks that appeared on his Floorplan album 'Paradise'. 'Phobia' and 'Never Grow Old' have been given a special Re-Plant and we have the premiere of the latter.

Chocolate Puma take on Orlando Voorn’s “In Da Jungle” again and retrofit their 2013 rework with a unique tribal spin off.

Phats & Small’s ‘Turn Around (Hey What’s Wrong With You)’ was one of the most inspiring House tunes in the late ‘90s and it returns in a multitude of forms and shapes to get the amassed crowds cheering and chanting again. Taking the spotlight are CALVO’s groove-heavy remix, Futuristic Polar Bears’ briskly-paced progressive rendition, Maison & Dragon’s classic take on the record and Mousse T’s Dirty Dub. Truesoul’s celebrates its 100th release with a masterful offering from Riva Starr’s new Hyperloop project.

Over the course of its 15-year lifespan, Truesoul has excelled at giving a platform to the groovier end of the techno spectrum, showcasing releases with everyone from Maetrik and Cirez D, to Hot Since 82, Reset Robot and of course label founder and A&R Adam Beyer. 

With his new techno orientated project Hyperloop, Riva Starr becomes the latest esteemed artist to join the label. The lead track ‘Resilience’ is crisp and punchy, and made immediately memorable by the ‘90s influenced house strings that run throughout. When Beyer dropped it during his recent daytime set at Sonus Festival, it was a stirring highlight. ‘Fallen Angel’ is centered around a sublime piano melody and is the kind of composition that was tailored made for a blissful morning set. Offering an effective contrast to the original, man-of-the-moment Tiger Stripes follows up his excellent ‘Body Trip’ EP with a powerful percussive rework of ‘Fallen Angel’, injecting his version with an Arabic-flavoured vocal.

Hotflush is a record label launched by Paul Rose aka Scuba in 2003. Its early period was spent as a central part of London's Bass Music scene which exploded in the mid 2000s, although the label has always been difficult to pigeonhole musically and recent output has focused on Techno and House.
