Strange Cadence is an independent record label and event series run by @Middle-James, dedicated to showcasing the intersection of jazz, deep house, techno and leftfield electronic. Based in Sydney, the label is driven by a passion for groove-rich productions and live performances where musicality takes center stage.

This new mix series shines a spotlight on the vibrant Australian underground music scene, following with Eora/Sydney-based producer and DJ @nicche_music. Blending beautifully tuned techno frequencies with meditative, complex rhythms, this mix is both a sound bath and a dynamic exploration of genre fluidity. Biography: 
emesh is the project of Antonio Muñoz where he unleashes his creativity in the music production of different genres: electronic, ambient, slow trance, idm. He comes from the beautiful region of La Alcarria in Spain. Since 2013 on Sendero Records, he has been delivering a quite diverse range of sound to the listener, sometimes danceable, sometimes calming, more metallic, more organic, and always inspiring. Antonio is both, a musician and therapist. His musical influences owe much to the pop and electronics of the 80s when he started working as resident Dj at Deadly club in Brihuega (Guadalajara-Spain) about 9 years.
His talent has been recognized on a global stage, with his track featured at the London Music Conference in 2020 playing a set at fabric@london. This global recognition is a testament to his skill and creativity. Currently, he's immersed in his studio, Elul, recently completing an indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato, and recent releases on [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], Blue Lotus and Something Spæcial label. Stay tuned for his latest creations.

He sat upon a little hill beside the bridge and looked out upon the river which passed down beneath. It was hard to see the ripples of the water but for the occasional flicker of the headlights which whizzed by up there on the overpass. Some people came out here from time to time to spot the northern lights but there wasn't much moving in the wayward sky this evening. 

There was a near silence in the air, the occasional scream of something wild in the woods in the distance would echo across the snow capped fields. 

He took a deep breath and watched as it filled the air with fog.

Don't Be Afraid has always represented the very best of the underground, a prominent label with a commitment to the out there. Label boss makes a triumphant return with a new EP.

Belgian producer, Tim Van de Meutter, aka Locked Groove, returns to Hotflush for a second EP following the success of January’s pivotal Rooted release. Keep It Simple comprises four weighty examples of why the young producer’s unique fusion of big-room techno and moodier, deep-house elements has been resonating so loudly of late.

Central to the EP is simplicity itself; how simple structures create something larger than the sum of their parts as “Keep Running”, with its rattling percussion, acidic bass stabs and euphoric builds, flaunts to the full. “Aller Simple” adds swing to a similar palette that’s as stripped-back as it is heavy-duty.

Force is replaced by introspection on vinyl-closer, “Even” – an inebriated voice reverberates over whispered organs and an understated groove – while digital buyers are offered a dubbed-out, tool version of “Keep Running”. Simple, but effective.

Hotflush is a record label launched by Paul Rose aka Scuba in 2003. Its early period was spent as a central part of London's Bass Music scene which exploded in the mid 2000s, although the label has always been difficult to pigeonhole musically and recent output has focused on Techno and House.
