Manchester mainstay Mason Maynard makes a highly-anticipated return to Hot Creations this February. Providing the five-track Somethin’ For Tha Underground EP, two leading vocalists feature on the release in the form of legendary MC talent General Levy and American singer-songwriter Hadiya George.

Mason spoke on how the release came together: “I’ve been writing a broad range of styles over the past couple of years and I’ve tried to share some of that here. I’m grateful to have worked with the legend that is General Levy, as well as the super talented vocalist Hadiya George.”

Somethin’ For Tha Underground feat. General Levy begins proceedings. A tribal, old-skool leaning number, General Levy’s vocals add that signature jungle feel, as Mason’s four-four style marches on in the foreground. Ring Of Fire feat. Hadiya George comes next, manifesting as a soothing sunset cut packed full of emotive chords and warming strings throughout. The dub version soon arrives before Motherland ramps up the tempo courtesy of a rolling bassline and rampant kick-hat combos. Finally, Disco Punk brings things to a funk-driven close thanks to an instantly recognisable vocal sample.

Manchester DJ and producer Mason Maynard has built himself an exceptional reputation since first bursting onto the scene in 2017. Releases on Hot Creations, Relief and Sola have cemented his standing as one of the scene’s brightest young prospects, whilst performances at clubbing and festival institutions such as Privilege (Ibiza), Parklife (Manchester), Hideout (Croatia) and Space (Miami) have brought his sound to global audiences. In recent times, his Lookin’ At Me release saw him work alongside USA heavyweight leaders Insomniac, setting the tone for a new musical direction, with tastes of rhythmic Detroit style electro further establishing his ever-growing musical palette.

Paris-based talent Manda Moor arrives on Hot Creations for the first time this May with the three-track The Climax EP, continuing a standout 2022 for the Danish-Filipino artist.

Rustling with tribal undertones and a rolling four-four groove, The Climax instantly transports us to the dancefloor and beyond. Jungle-like melodies live beside infectious lyrical samples before the minimal-sounds of Sandy Groove soon arrive, as fast-paced drums drift beneath a pummelling bassline throughout. Besame rounds things off, ratcheting up the tempo with bell-like percussion and driving kick-hat combos, forming an upbeat, club-ready cut. 

Manda Moor has fast-become an esteemed force in contemporary house circles. Racking up acclaimed releases on labels such as Kaluki, Tamango and DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid, her MOOD EDITS series - in conjunction with Sirus Hood - has garnered support from true industry heavyweights, including Pete Tong, The Martinez Brothers and Loco Dice to name a few. Each edition of MOOD EDITS has reached the number one spot on Bandcamp’s House / Deep House / Minimal chart, proof of Manda’s keen ear for production, whilst her club and festival sets include performances at Amnesia, The BPM Festival, Elrow and many more besides.

Paco Osuna is back on his label Mindshake with a new chunky and funky house EP made in collaboration with DJ Oliver. Alongside the two original tracks, one is a solo track by DJ Oliver, there is also a remix by Iglesias.

One of Spain's leading electronic music artists, Paco Osuna is an international DJ who regularly headlines events all over the world. He is also a producer who's in constant high demand following his many tracks and remixes on labels such as Get Physical, Snatch!, Bedrock and Minus.

DJ Oliver is a Barcelona-based DJ who carved out a career in Ibiza following his legendary residencies at both Amnesia and Space gaining international fame and amongst his many achievements, is an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. He is also a talented producer who’s previously worked with record labels ranging from Defected to Stereo Productions.

Iglesias steps up on remix duty with an impressive remix in a style similar to what he has previously released via high profile labels such as Hottrax, Elrow Music, Toolroom and Moon Harbour.

Opening the release is the original mix of "Groove Bass", which has a dark and intense atmosphere with a sassy vocal layered over a throbbing bassline. Iglesias' remix of Groove Bass adds a funky bassline with acid tones to put his stamp on the track. "Macario Groove" is a solo original made by DJ Oliver, and it closes the release with its bumping groove and trippy vibe.

Federico Ambrosi continues to cement his role as one of today’s most exciting prospects with a stripped-back release on Hottrax entitled ‘Conscious’. 

Although he’s been releasing music for the best part of a decade the last couple of years have been incredible for the Italian producer having made appearances on Repopulate Mars, Paul’s Boutique, NONSTOP, Stereo Productions, Relief and Sola. Picking up support from the upper echelons of house music, such as Lee Foss, Solardo, Green Velvet, Detlef, and Jamie Jones, the latter now invites him to debut on his Hottrax imprint. 

‘Conscious’ is a rhythmic cut with crunchy drums, squelchy atmospherics and a quivering synth designed to compel crowds into a trance during the afterhours. ‘Analize’ is more robust in comparison: adding more thump to the kicks as a metallic snare, murky spoken word sample and viscous bassline powers everything forward.
