February 2016 sees the 3rd anniversary of Houndstooth, and the label mark this with their 50th release. ‘Tessellations’ is a compilation of brand new, exclusive tracks from each of the 14 artists to release on the label.

The release serves to simultaneously trace common threads and highlight tensions within such a stylistically expansive roster.

There's not really much else to say about this one. The names dropped in the title alone lets your ears know what they're in store for.

Detroit's Burden brothers, more commonly known as Octave One, have been making classic techno from their roots since 1990 – and, much to our pleasure, have continued to produce, DJ and play sensational live sets as though no time has passed. 25 years on, their music still fuels the dancefloors of 2nd gen. techno lovers, as well as being picked up and reworked by modern dance music's most valuable players –  of which Paul Woolford is most certainly one.

When asked about his "Lose Myself" rework, Paul shared that Octave One and their 430 West label "have been inspirations to me for so many years. We met through mutual friends and immediately connected, following various gigs together globally. It was an honour to be invited to work on something for the Detroit label. My intention was to bring out the soulful edge of Octave One's sound and place it within the framework of a track that would work towards the end of the night." If techno be the food of love, play on...

Midland marked the maiden voyage on his ReGraded imprint only two months ago, with his Double Feature EP. Without a second to lose, the second release is set to go, with newcomer Hubie Davison and his Sanctified EP now at the helm. The title track has become a staple of Midland's sets throughout summer, with it first entering our radars during his BR x Dekmantel set (check the exact moment it dropped here). Satisfaction so deep, it prompted Midland to contact Hubie to see if he'd consider releasing it on ReGraded. Though the label may still be in its infancy, the calibre exemplified in this second release proves it to be unparalleled.

REGRD002 drops on 27 November strictly only on vinyl.

Our dutch counterpart Onno is known for his dance floor mastery . His "After School" EP on Upon You was a multifunctional mover that could teach any lethargic raver a few aerobic moves. „Hit me“ is in the same league and is completely unsuitable for Yoga and Pilates, so he’s succesfully targeted the blonde dance instructor once again. Onno brings the A1 fatburner to a peak with his charming impertinence. Thomas Schuhmacher’s pimped version of this awesome rave stepper on B1 tugs and pulls at your pants dragging you kicking and screaming to the dance parquet, where you soon realize that you never want to leave..... but for those of you that want to lose some weight also know that you always need to condition yourself and „Ghetto Talk“ on B2 is the perfect bouncy tune for that hour or so on the treadmill.
