Houribe LOU is a band formed around band-leader Yuichi Fujisawa and his hammered dulcimer. Yuichi began writing and performing songs for solo hammered dulcimer in 2010 while busking on Hiroshima's Motoyasu Bridge, just metres from the site of the 1945 atomic bomb-blast. Inspired by the spirit of harmony of Hiroshima's citizens, he soon began incorporating friends and musicians from around Hiroshima and the Tokyo professional circuit into his performances. With the bright pulse of Yuichi's dulcimer at it's centre, Houribe LOU is a live collaboration of some of Japan's best young musicians. Whether on the bridge or the stage Houribe LOU is versatile and dynamic, featuring anything from drums and bass guitar to didgeridoo and djembe.
