The first contribution comes from our good old friend Fabian, with whom we often had the great pleasure of sharing turntables and many beautiful nights out on dancefloors. He's a true professional at his craft, filling the room with his energetic and enthusiastic attitude, and is always a good bet for a party's rush hour. Constantly keeping the crowd in mind, he also likes to experiment with his musical roots. So as the night turns late, this guy is going to play George Michael and Modern Talking, whether you like it or not. Fabian has also recently started producing, which will definitly be worth keeping an eye on.

In this mix, he provides a powerful and drifting, yet laid-back house set, giving you a sweet glance of what you can expect when you're able to catch him playing live, which unfortunately happens pretty rarely.

Number three is carefully selected and mixed by sehr. We got to know him this summer at the lovely muah! festival close to brno. Instantly, we found not only a musical connection. Born in the city that never sleeps, he's now landed in Salzburg for his studies, but hopefully he's going to drop by in vienna some time.

For us, he created a beautiful soft bouncing hour full of slowly driven melancholic house, as well as some crunchy acid lines. This should get you smoothly into the new year!

#3 - Sehr Sehr

Sunday, 11 am, Nachtdigital festival, Olganitz. Manamana are taking over to play the closing set beside the lake: it was love at first sight. The leipzig based duo created an uncomparable atmosphere, which we will never forget. Manamana, aka Sevensol and Map.ache are founders of Kann records, on which they release quality dance music by artists such as Daniel Stefanik, Traumprinz or Efdemin as well as their own productions. With each Kann release, one can feel the passion for their work.

Even though Manamana love to play long-lasting DJ-sets, you will wish they'd continue forever. As always, they deliver an energetic and diversified mix of melodic house tunes. Everything Kann!

#9 - Manamana

Melvique delivers our soundtrack for mid-summer. We got to know him and his enthusiasm for music while growing up together in our hometown. Ever since then, he has showcased his musical talent not only as a DJ but also as a passionate jazz musician. Having never heard a disco tune he didn't like, he has a knack for heating up the dancefloor and represents the spirit of Schmusesalon like no one else.

#10 is an hour full of summer anthems, between organic slow house, soul and 70/80ies rock edits - ready to sweeten your holidays!

#10 - Melvique

Hamburg is one of those places where talented dj's and musicians seem to be growing on trees. One of them is called cornelius, who stands behind the 12th edition on hours. His homebase fluth spreads a charming and friendly spirit at their parties, as well as love for vinyl and of course for electronic music. Simple and beautiful.

Cornelius mixed a diversified hour of contemporary house music, always keeping the deepness in mind. We hope you love it as much as we do!

#12 - Cornelius

Last sunday in october means that hours edition number thirteen is available. This one is made by two guys who make Salzburg a truly better place, not only musically. Linus Milchbrand is djing since almost ever. Acting as a resident of the soda club, he adds a much needed momentum into the city's nightlife. 
DJ 3st is running a men's clothing store and has a big heart for electronic music. As a DJ duo, they emphasize their passion for dance music, whether it's house, techno or disco with a pop-appeal. The fact that they're not taking themselves too seriously is always a perfect foundation for a fine night out on the dancefloor. 

We are overjoyed to present you Linus Milchbrand and DJ 3st with the 13th edition of hours. Look forward to an hour of disco-infiltrated house grooves, some raw acid lines as well as a few warm and soulful tunes. 


#13 - Linus Milchbrand & DJ 3st

We are happy to announce Fabe for hours edition # 14. We met him in a lecture about austrian civil procedure law. Not exactly the place where you expect someone who already released on spanish and british house imprints. His productions represent a great balance between detroit-ish old-school flair and a modern UK touch. Besides, he regularly shows his musical preferences as a Dj in vienna's finest clubs. Also, his newest project "Manifest" is definitely something to keep an eye on. 

Fabe's mix starts off with some sweet soulful disco classics and continues to groove into bouncing deep house tunes. Delightful!

#14 - Fabe

Our last edition of the year is mixed by Aline Raphael. The French woman living in Berlin places a bomb of relief and joy. The mix displays a perfect symbiosis of hypnotizing minimal, grooving house and laid-back techno. Aline's way of dealing with her vinyl collection is a great delight.

hours #15 gives us a stunning early finish of the year 2014. We keep the good feeling - for sure. Thanks.

We are happy to introduce Selina Sebastian for hours #16. She's known as the host of viennas cutest party series, the schmusesalon. She loves to play everything between electropop, souly disco, slow house and more krautish and psychedelic stuff. 

The mixtape she sent us therefore gives you a good impression of how a schmusesalon night sounds like. So watch out for the next one, we'll definetely be there. 


#16 - Selina Sebastian

For hours #17 we invited our Czech fellow PDCH to contribute his musical ideas to our little site. Soon after he started djing, he quickly became a constant player in the nightlife of Brno and Prague. Depending on the occasion, he shows a broad range of different genres, from ambient to jazz to techno and one can also hear a certain influence of german house in his dj-sets.

Recorded at his home in the south moravian area, PDCHs mix is like a portrayal of those beautiful landscapes: spheric pads accompanied by hypnotising drum rhythms. An exceptional compilation of modern deep house with a sweet touch of melancholy.

#17 - PDCH

We’d like to introduce you to Artur. As we grew up together, we shared the same musical education, both formal and informal. His specific approach to music has often been quite inspiring to us. He’s based in Leipzig now, where he’s definetely in good company in terms of it's vivid musical scene. 

After his mesmerizing podcast for kann records, we are very pleased to bring you another great piece by Artur for hours #19. He put together a selection of current favorites into a musical voyage of discovery, from a special psychedelic rock intro to a rhythm based, forward thinking interpretation of electronic music. In other words, a mixtape including ten exceptional pieces of music.

Attila is the man behind the 21st edition of hours. He’s DJ of the berlin based Label Lack Records, which is for sure among our favorites at the moment. Lack is driven by Claudio Banti and focuses on „Deep House, Soul Techno, Ghetto and Purple Haze Minimal“ (Groove). Dancing people of vienna may remember the formidable Lack Showcase (with Attila and Pablo Mateo) this summer at the Prater Unser Festival. 

Attila delivers 68 minutes of raw, bouncing analogue house inbetween some dreamy moments and flickering electro. Get lacky!

#21 - Attila

A few years ago we came across a soundcloud profile called Marie, and were attached from the first moment. Behind this name stands a 21 year-old viennese local, who truly grew up with music. During his childhood, he already spent a lot of time in his father's studio, taking his first steps as musician and producer. Together with Erdball he just founded the monthly party series ‚Salto Capitale‘, which currently takes place at the Vienna's Grelle Forelle, where they aim for a more challenging club-experience by breaking people's expectations from time to time.

We are excited to have Marie for hours number 23. A staggering compilation of leftfield tunes, synth wave and krautish electro. As good as expected!

#23 - Marie

#24 is served by vienna based danish native Vktr. The artist, producer and DJ already generated some serious buzz with two fantastic releases on the Copenhagen imprint Tartelet Records. Plenty of other unreleased stuff can be marveled at during his Livesets, where he presents his unique mixture of sample-heavy, cheerful and jazzy house tunes.

For this mix, Vktr taped together some extraordinary house grooves, dipped into raw lo-fi haze!

#24 - Vktr

We don’t know many people with such a deep knowledge of electronic music as Max Hill (aka MvL). This might be because he works at Hard Wax in Berlin – undeniably one of the best record stores in the world – but also because he has been a very active local Dj in Berlin for many years. On a regular basis you can catch him playing at Berlin’s OHM and Tresor. Recently he has released his first track on the Dresden based Lockertmatik under his alias MvL. 

#26 is an extended hour of sounds from another planet. Dark and absorbing, experimental and agitating, everything at the same time. Enjoy this outstanding selection by Max Hill, coming straight from Kottbusser Tor!

#26 - Max Hill

Edition #28 is an intense trip across the universe of vienna based artist Minou Oram. She’s known for her strong and well crafted sets as a regular of the much appreciated Scheitern raves and at many other important spots of vienna’s underground nightlife. Her mixture may be classified (if necessary) between 80’s infused electro and industrial techno. In addition to her DJ-activities, she recently raised some much needed awareness inside the viennese electronic music scene: Besides discovering a huge gap in gender diversity regarding the city’s DJ lineups, she also founded femdex, a database to support female identified artists and DJs. 

In this nearly two-hour piece of excellence, Minou Oram explores the musical landscapes on the dark and experimental side of techno. Often influenced by minimal wave, noise, industrial and backed by mysterious vocals, her mix fits perfectly into this kind of november. For all of you, who don’t mind having a slightly disordered state of mind.

#28 - Minou Oram

Leipzig based duo Monsanto High aka Stanley Schmidt and Solaris are no strangers to hours. Both have already left their mark on Vienna’s dancefloors with some superb DJ-Sets. Solaris is not only DJ but also core member of the progressive and much appreciated club project Institut für Zukunft, where she’s responsible for a lot of distinctive and high quality bookings. The nonchalant Stanley Schmidt is DJ, founder of Rivulet Records and producer of some terrific house tracks. Together they are our favorite high!

Stanley and Solaris are coming from different angles of electronic dance music, but team up in the latest entry of our mix series in a unique mixture of grainy and also spheric sounds. Enjoy 70 raw minutes of Monsanto High and check them out playing records if close by.

#29 - Monsanto High

We’re celebrating number thirty with Misonica, who's been around vienna’s electronic music scene for quite a while now. Next to her frequent djing she plays an integral part in creating and promoting events which should not be missed. Just to name two of them, Hope X brought already artists like Jasss and Parrish Smith to vienna and recently she co-founded the utopia3000 platform, which aims to highlight the egalitarian and subversive potential of alternative club culture. Raising those issues means a lot in times of constant social media commercialization of techno.

Her mix for our series meanders around 100 bpm through krautish psychedelic rhythms, industrial techno and wavy fields. Do yourself a favor and get loose to an hour of exceptional tunes!

#30 - Misonica

Juergen Vonbank provides us with another issue of hours. When Juergen moved to our hometown Salzburg a few years ago, he quickly put his stamp on the city’s electronic music scene. First of all he is part of the „Freakadelle“ association, which is running a self-titled label, hosting parties at their very own Vereinshaus „Heizkeller“ and offering workshops. In 2016, Juergen also founded the Minerva records store, supplying the city with a wide selection of high quality vinyl. Due to his excellent advice and the cozy atmosphere, this place instantly became a beloved meeting point by musical enthusiasts from all over the town. On top of that he also runs his own imprint Night Defined Recordings, featuring national and international artists.

In this hour, Juergen shows off his versatility, as he shuffles around various drumrhythms between warm, subtle electronica and dub techno. A well rounded work by one of salzburg’s finest!

hours is ours, once again. Paul Ernest Kraubath invites you to a 50 minutes ritual of hypnotic yet ethereal sounds, from post-punk to slow industrial.

#33 is delivered by Vienna based YAMAN. Having his roots as a psychedelic rock musician, those elements still play a part in his musical odysseys of nowadays between african flavored rhythms and darker sides of techno. He brings together all these influences not only as a Dj but also as a producer, for example in his joint project with Nick Hanzo, which will be premiered somewhere at the croatian seaside this summer. Last but not least he is co-founder of the quite new event series „Happening.“. 

Yaman comes along with the first tropical vibes in the cold beginning of 2018. Enjoy a mixtape full of forest and psychedelic rhythms, outside of the ordinary house music!

#33 - Yaman

Up next on hours is Offenbach based Vincent Feit. He is resident at the notorious Robert Johnson and part of the Stay crew, which is responsible for well curated club nights. We would also like to draw your attention to their formidable mix series. As a producer he appeared on the latest Live At Robert Johnson Compilation and in 2015 he released a tape on Dj Slyngshot’s Yappin Records.

For this set Vincent gathered an hour of dark electro vibes, creating a cinematic dystopian landscape. You won’t be disappointed.

#34 - Vincent Feit

We are pleased to present edition 35 by Luca Carlotta. Being socialised in both Germany and Spain, with musical roots in playing drums, Luca is currently based in Vienna and organises the monthly series of Ghost Notes.

Located somewhere between tribal, dub, cheesy new age and ambient, this recording offers a jaunty journey to get lost, just the right thing for forthcoming grey days and slow dances.

#35 - Luca Carlotta

After we already enjoyed her sets at our clubnights, Polyxene is taking care of #36. Originally from Athens, she moved to Vienna, where she's shaking up the crowds with a mix of electro, acid and techno including elements of industrial, ebm and wave. As a host, she is part of the Äther Crew and recently she started her own night called Kosmo Kinetico. 

For over an hour, Polyxene does what she does best by taking us on a rythmic adventure, mixing crisp electro, roughed up techno and bleak wave cuts. One to keep!

Very much enjoyed him deejaying at Fingers Of God’s Sepsis club night last December at Celeste, we are happy to welcome Dublin based Sputnik One now on hours for edition 37. Jim’s first few releases which oscillate between UK Body Music and fast-paced electro appeared already on the Estonian Gestalt Records and London based The Untold Stories. Definitely, much more to come.

Take your time for this special transmission with lots of different aspects of percussive electronic music, prioritizing narrative and feel over genre. In his own words: „I am drawn to the unpolished textures and wonky rhythms in a lot of these tracks, because in this raw state they retain so much spontaneity. They use the blueprints of archetypal genres and build on them, acknowledging their origins whilst simultaneously staying firmly planted in the present“. Dublin Massif!
