We've been having some interesting email conversations with the Brazilian duo for a couple months now, strategically saving their EP for our catalog release number PDM088. Get it? Busting through language barriers and on the heels of their recent release on Dirtybird the Perfect Driver crew is pleased to bring you the latest from the South American artists. Though not always sure exactly what's being said lyrically, the energy conveyed to the dancefloor is universal. Ramiro Lopez drops the electrifying follow up to his ‘Pretending’ EP from May this year. 

For almost a decade, Spain’s Ramiro Lopez has established himself as one his country’s leading proponents of techno, with strong releases across labels that include Suara, Intec, Octopus Recordings and Bedrock. He first debuted on Drumcode in 2016 with the rousing collaborative track ‘Clap Your Hands’ that ranked among one of the label’s standout tracks for the year. With one Drumcode release already under his belt in 2017 and a new label project Odd Recordings with fellow DC cohort Arjun Vagale recently launched, he’s enjoying another strong year.

His return to the label comes in the form of ‘Being Alone’, a powerful trio of cuts, all of which featured in Adam Beyer’s Awakenings Festival Day 1 performance. The title track is a multi-layered weapon, propelled by a dizzying vocal, swirling synth effects and pin-sharp percussion that build toward a smooth classy finish. ‘Dark Science’ is an effective stomper brought to life by a bell chime hookline and undulating synth melody ensuring its peak-time prowess. ‘Der Raum’ rounds out the EP, highlighted by Lopez’s deft drum work, proceeded by a driving, euphoric climax.

Kicking off with the heavy hitting 'Black Friday', this groove takes over ones body as if he encoded some telekinetic power that spills out when transmitted through speakers. Alien technology possibly yes, but we don't ask or tell. The grooves continue with 'Anotha Level', imagine you're at a far away planet rave in a universe where R2D2 is on the decks, this is the song that has the place bumpin'. Deep groovy bounce with some sci-fi licks. Lastly, Sven brings us 'Oh Boy' to end our journey and make our way back home to earth with atmospheric, laid back vibes.

Eveningperple release their debut Holy Molé EP 'More Romance' featuring 3 new tracks and remixes by RIFFA, Proper Villains, and House Divided. Bringing back their funky fresh stylings to the label – their previous releases on Holy Molé include the Winter Fresh compilation and a remix of Codes & Astronomar 'How We Do'.

Leading with dreamy, amorous stabs, the title track 'More Romance' introduces a deep bassline that carries through the funky rhythms and fresh soundscapes. 'U Really R' moves into brighter melodic flavors with lush, natural samples balanced out by cheeky drum programming and a sassy bass growl. Diving straight into bouncy, syncopation, 'Mirage' moves through ethereal instrumental waves before bringing back the swinging rhythms now with spacey synths as the melody takes flight.

Proper Villains amps up the remix of 'U Really R' with oscillating acid lines and a heavy low-end, meanwhile RIFFA layers his remix with propulsive percussion and a heartbeat bassline. House Divided drives the funk way up remixing 'More Romance' with tech-heavy grooves.
