After the hugely successful Never Complain EP on Lost Palms, it’s no surprise to see purveyor of French groove DJ Psychiatre back for another disc on Shall Not Fade, adding his name to the Seasons Series collection. Expect exquisitely produced house for both day and night, with a splash of rave-influenced heat.

Different Philosophies EP hits like classic house music but breaks rigid conceptions of genre.

Onto the B side and a beat you can feel in your chest lets you know ‘Summer Hit Ready’ means business. The tense stabs and half-hidden vocals before the drop give high drama, making way for classic house piano. If the record started with day party energy, this one is straight from the darkness of the rave.

PREMIERE: DJ Psychiatre - Summer Hit Ready [Shall Not Fade]

Taking the keys for the thirtieth release, Dutch dynamo Cleanfield, who lays down a four track EP dripping in summer sun. 

The A side opens with ‘Sunshy’ a disco house banger, complete with bumping bass, sun-kissed toplines and warped Kool & The Gang synth warbles, before ‘Oregano’, takes you on a Mediterranean flavoured, supercharged dream house journey spliced with tripped out arppegiated wanderings. 

On the flip, ‘Krispy’ a tropical, synth-heavy party starter with sandy beaches and crystal-clear oceans in mind and ‘Caught In The Act’ an underwater sea sensation, drenched in drunken arps and a cocktail of chants, guitar licks and good vibes.

The paper felt crisp in his hands. He had never been as wealthy in all of his days and now as the proud owner of a 100 Crown bill he would simply spend, spend, spend. He dreamt of living life to the full, luxuriously and extravagantly beyond his wildest dreams. He would buy the finest clothes, dine in the fanciest restaurants eating nothing but fresh strawberries and cream. He would drive fancy cars and live in a castle upon the hill. Nothing else would compete or compare. 

Parviz features as part of a new EP alongside Folamour. The pair are set to release on FHUO Records in the coming weeks, a record label which is run by French up and comer Folamour himself.

I've always loved Starshine's Prelude classic "All I need is You" and struggle to mix it in since its tempo is quite dynamic. Really up and down and changes in the toughest parts to mix in, so I kinda figured I should make a quantized and uptempo edit for my sets. I think of how impactful it would have been to hear this played by Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage back in the day and how euphoric it would be to dance to it. I hope it brings a similar experience to an audience today <3

The 80's are back in full force on Alan Dixon’s debut for Tensnake’s True Romance imprint. The London producer is on the rise with releases on Lumberjacks In Hell and Running Back this year alone. “Motel 4000” serves as a further assertion of his prodigious talent in the studio.
Title track “Motel 4000” dishes out a full body experience with a powerful italo chug, vintage chord progressions and racy trance undertones. Watch out for the piano house choruses that sound like they’ve been pulled out straight out of a classic. It’s a big one.
On the flip, Patootie Tango is a like- minded cousin. Big disco claps and jazz funk inflections command proceedings here and make for a perfect early night heater.
