A decade has passed since Mixmag first crowned House Trained "#1 Top Night In London", thanks to forward-thinking line-ups, cutting edge flyers  and their unparalleled strapline "No s**t on the dancefloor!" Self-imposed rehab, a Ministry of Sound radio show and a flirtation with a major record label followed with vinyl releases from the likes of DJ Disciple, Denise Lopez and Wolfgang Gartner, before founder Phil Loraine cut loose for the label's first independent release - partnering with Suddi Raval of 90s dance outfit 'Together' for a 21st century rework of their seminal Hacienda rave classic 'Hardcore Uproar', which gained heavy Radio 1 rotation and support from A-list DJs worldwide. 

Remarkably, twenty-five years have passed since the original 'Hardcore Uproar' reached #11 on the UK charts (signed to Pete Tong's FFRR label), yet Nightgeist is also the brainchild of Raval, whose passion for electronic music in all its forms still burns brighter than ever in 2015. A covert dance music collective hailing from the Northwest UK, co-producer Si Withenshaw and female vocalist Bekka complete the trio. 

'Horizon', with it's unavoidable Ibiza-friendly vocal hook ("I see the sun in the sky!"), comes charged with a remix from Ant LaRock (released on Beatport August 28th) who recently had success with remixes for the likes of Giorgio Moroder's pairing with Kyle Minogue on 'Right Here, Right Now' and a collaboration with stable mate Todd Terry on Ministry. 

Making a welcome return to the dance music fold for 2015, House Trained gets set to make it's mark on dance floors everywhere once again with its unwavering no-nonsense music policy!

Nightgeist - 'Horizon' (Original Mix) **FREE DOWNLOAD**

Started as a London based club night, House Trained earned a reputation on the underground circuit thanks to a combination of cutting edge flyers and poster art, a loyal following of party revellers and its accompanying strapline "no **** on the floor"; in reference to an unwavering attitude towards its no nonsense music policy. Always on the look out for the next big DJ and small venue to inhibit, a series of parties next door to London's Fabric resulted in a guest appearance from Mylo, on the cusp of global stardom and a favourable Mixmag report followed, labelling House Trained "#1 top night in London". A small print run of t-shirts with the Scotty dog logo emblazoned on the front led to an upsurge in requests from punters and DJs alike, eager to pledge their allegiance to this understated club night which had sprouted from relative obscurity on nothing more than a shoestring budget.

A Saturday night Ministry of Sound radio show followed and then a record label - flirtation with investment from a major label led to a series of commercial releases from DJ Disciple, Denise Lopez and Wolfgang Gartner before co-founder Phil Loraine filed the trademark independently. Next followed new mixes of 1990 northern classic "Hardcore Uproar", breathing new life into one of the most famous all time UK dance classics which was subsequently championed in festival sets worldwide by a number of A-List DJs. Later accompanied by a new vocal version which received rave reviews in DJ Mag, Mixmag, London Metro and Timeout, a memorable music video was also shot in Manchester's revered Music Box venue on the final week before it closed its doors to the public for the very last time, after forty years of successfully showcasing live music.

In 2021 Phil continues his music industry journey as a DJ & Artist Manager. He now works for Europa Music Management who represent the likes of Purple Disco Machine, HOSH, Orbital, David Penn, Monolink and Babert and shifts between London and Ibiza, where he hosts the House Trained radio show which airs on Café Mambo Radio (Fridays at 2pm) and worldwide via 63 other stations. A passionate house music enthusiast, he continues to DJ at every opportunity and push the House Trained brand forward as a labour of love.
