This long-awaited tune from Thommy Davis’ forthcoming album has finally been released! Thommy and Spen have been working on this project for years and we’ve decided it can’t be held back any longer. "Harvest For The World" was originally released in 1976 as a single by The Isley Brothers on their T-Neck imprint. The iconic song was the title track from the Harvest For The World LP and was one of their socially conscious singles. Written by the Isley’s as a group effort, the song is an open-hearted call for equality across the planet. Guitarist and principle lyricist, Ernie Isley said "Harvest For The World" refers to a peaceful gathering where every human being is invited, and where no-one will be hindered in any way from participating."

A personal favorite of Groove Junkies’ Evan Landes, “Harvest’s” message still resonates loudly today. It serves as a perfect vehicle for Groove Junkies, Will ‘Reelsoul’ Rodriquez & songstress Nichelle Monroe’s highly anticipated follow up single to their #1 2018 MoHo hit “My Truth” (and subsequent Afro-soul mashup “Feel My Truth” w/ legends Manoo & DJ Spen on Quantize). The trio’s gorgeous treatment stays true to the original in form, but with resolute focus on today’s modern dance floors. Originally released in 1979 on Gamble & Huff’s iconic Philadelphia International label, these brand-new reworks pay total homage to the original with Richard’s rich & soulful vocals adding an almost Teddy Pendergrass influenced vibe - the perfect marriage to John & Thommy’s delightful arrangement.

Alongside John’s M+M remixes, label execs Spen & Thommy add their dance floor ‘oomph’ to the mix, keeping all the elements of the originals firmly in place but adding in a slightly more direct drum arrangement - killer stuff from every angle.

Atlantic Starr - When Love Calls (Dr. Packer Rework)

Vince Montana Jr left us on April 13, he was 85 years. 

He spent most of them writing, playing and arranging beautiful music. You can hear playing vibraphone (or vibes for short) on pretty much EVERY recording that came out of Philadelphia's Sigma Sound Studio from the late 60s to the mid 80's.

He was playing the vibes with MFSB, composers Gamble & Huff's studio supergroup, the core of what is known as the Philly Sound. He conducted the same musicians as his own Salsoul Orchestra giving them many classic Disco songs, amongst them the infamous Runaway with Loleatta Holloway on vocals on which you can clearly hear Vince's trademark vibes licks. 

In the 90's newer school House producers got him back in the studio and he arranged strings for Mousse T, DJ Meme and most notably for MAW collaborating on the Braxton's cover of the Boss and remaking his own classic Runaway.  

When I first heard "The Way U Love Me" I immediately asked to remix it and a budget to be able to get Vince to score the strings and vibes in Philadelphia. I was certain the song could be turned into a Philly Sound classic. Despite suffering with major illness at the time Vince enthusiastically accepted and made my dream come true.

The T.S.O.P. version of "The Way U Love Me" is the remix I'm the most proud of. It features a cast of more than 30 people, each one of them putting a part of their soul in the recording.
The mix you can hear on this page is an unreleased instrumental edit where the forefront is taken by the string orchestra and vibraphone solos.

As India was saying in the NuYorican Soul remake of Runaway:
"Vince, play them vibes for us just one more time"

Marcus started DJing in the late-eighties, when he soon became resident in one of the countries hottest clubs - the Theaterkeller where international DJs and artists regularly came to play and perform. During that time he also did the city's first acid parties.

Since three decades Marcus, aka DJ PhillyTRAX, plays in numerous clubs as well as several events from Bol Beats Croatia to his own HOUSE HEAVEN Parties in Hamburg with Guests like Tracy Hamlin (live PA), John Khan (QUANTIZE), Groove Assasin and Victor Simonelli. Marcus is also the founder & resident of the famous EFFENDEE parties in Hamburg.

Producing
In 2018 Marcus passionatley startet to produce. In early 2019 he founded the HOUSEHERR project together with Hamburgs Electro House producer Florian Bruchhäuser - aka UglyPaul. In November 2019 their first common track was released, "Show Your Love".

The HOUSEHERR style shows many influences from Disco-Boogie & Phillysound to Classic & Acid House. Their music passes the boundaries of Deep-, Soulful-, Disco- to Jackin-House.
