Ahh, the joys of Summer. Something about this season puts a smile on our face. Could be the sun, could be the Summer break, but most of all we love it because it’s BBQ season. Dirtybird started with a grill and some speakers in the park, and while we’ve passed a decade of park parties, we’ve reached the third installment of our yearly BBQ compilation, “Secret Sauce'.

BBQ’s are all about coming together, so we’ve added some unique artist collaborations, along with several up and coming artists we’ve welcomed to the family. Doorly &amp; Marshall Jefferson, Shiba San &amp; Will Clarke, Billy Kenny &amp; Maximono, Christian Martin &amp; Ardalan, and Justin Jay &amp; Sacha Robotti all team up for the first time, and we welcome back Bruno Furlan and Sirus Hood, who each turn in their own stand-out tracks that have been on heavy rotation. New faces to Dirtybird include Dateless, Whoami, Sven Lochenhoer, Middath, Groove ’N Hat, Dankey, and Born Dirty.

With enough music to fuel your Summer holiday, you can catch all of these tracks being played on our BBQ tour, where will be hitting up San Francisco, Seattle, Brooklyn, Detroit and our BBQ city vote winner, Miami. See you in the sun.

What better way to kick off the new year than with our good friend Bruno Furlan and his steamy house vibes and quirky sounds. Since our first release with Furlan back in the summer of 2015 we've been following the rise of his career, dropping tunes on labels such as Dirtybird and Relief, staying true to his sound, keeping it simple and focused around the main hook of each track. The 'My Heart EP' is no different, including two dirty tech house tunes with one unquestionable destination, the dancefloor. The lead track 'I Listen With My Heart', takes you right to the spot with its chuggy straight beat, combined with heavy layered basslines and a wacky lead melody, only to be sprinkled with some slick vocal arrangements. The second track, 'I'm Fired', talks about how you lost your job due to dancing all night, guess we've all been there, for better or worse it's important that the soundtracks of such night are pure bangers, something we can guarantee with this EP from Bruno Furlan.

LondonBridge & Wenzday- VIP [Your EDM Premiere]

We're back with another solid joint from Holt 88 this time around presenting their Wonky Business EP. As expected all three tunes are crammed with Holt 88 usual dirty house juice. 'Fatboy' kicks off the madness with a solid percussive bass groove joint by long sustained 'ghost house' notes just to be accompanied by a super dope vocal shouting 'Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat'. Somewhat crazy, yes, to put it simple 'Fatboy' is one of those tunes that definitely grabs everyone's attention. Then we have 'Bomba', another wacky one-way ticket to crazy land, of course, Holt 88's signature 808 bass action plus some high pitched helium balloon vocals. Like what else do you need? By now you might be asking yourself 'What'?, which is why we finish off the release with just that track called 'What'. Again, no surprise by now that this one is wonky in its nature and with its somewhat more chilled vibe closes the Wonky Business EP perfectly. If you are ready for this or not we obviously don't know but make sure you check it out, definitely one for the dancefloor and the summer festival season that is just about to kick off.

-How long have you been creating music?
I had a rock band for 10 years and composed the songs. But I always went to electronic parties and since 2016 I started electronic music production, and in that month it's been 2 years that I'm producing.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
 use Ableton Live and native, operator, saturator and ping pong delay. I really enjoy using Massive, Decapitator, Kick Start. I use everything around me as inspiration. FUNK.3, for example, is full of sirens, busines and everything I live in transit, from work to my house hahaha it's like my life was a video clip and I danc'd my songs in it, so everything is used as inspiration for my tracks.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
I discovered Dirtybird in 2015 when Bruno Furlan debuted with 'Blow Minutes' ever since I followed and I set as a goal to get to DB.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you like to collaborate with the most?
Recently I realized the dream of having a collab with Bruno Furlan, who of idol became my great friend, but I still dream of having a collab with Will Clarke, which is a great inspiration and one of the best for me.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
The adventures of a dream maker.

-What's the best concert you've ever been to?
It's a hard question hahaha but the best show was UP CLUB 2016 when I actually got in touch with the electronic scene, I saw Amine Edge & Dance, Super Flü, D-Nox, Volkoder and Alok. It was there that I felt that my life changed, decided to be a DJ and producer and to be there one day.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
For the future, I think it's the dream trip, right? To know what I will be if all my plans worked out, if I played Campout, Coachella ... hahaha

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
A Falcon.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
Since I discovered Dirtybird, I have followed and wanted to live it, Dirtybird has become a dream, a great and fun family in which I wanted to be a part. For me, it goes way beyond a record company. I've already reissued my 'Do It' track that came out on Perfect Driver on VonStroke's album 'Live in Detroit' and now with this official release is something of an immense happiness, a dream come true and I just have to thank for being here today.

DKING - FUNK.3 [BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE]

So much amazing music coming your way this week. If you are familiar with Lucati and Dateless then you probably know they recently started a new label, Kȯlmē Records. These two are just cracking the 1st egg and oozing out the very beginnings of what is going to be a full on 3 egg omelette in the coming months and years as individual artists and label owners. I jumped at the chance to premiere one of the tracks off their upcoming release which is a compilation featuring 4 very talented artists. Rounding out the group of artists is Black V Neck, EMUH, Sterium and the focus of our premier lies with MKJAY.

Quite simply this track is fucking sick! I wouldn't be much of a writer (not that i am that great anyway) if that's all I said, but sometimes I feel  that is all that is needed. Words often times just convolute things but there are some strong emotions invoked in me when I listen to this track and I will attempt to share them with you now. First off I am not sure if there is a particular part of Brazil where they breed crazy producers or if there is something in the water down there but I am constantly blown away by the level of talent I keep coming across from that country. I had been familiar with MKJAY but I am a fan now for sure after diving into his catalog. For this compilation his track Nu Funk stood out for its unique and dancefloor driven style. An encouraging vocal gets us amped up as the the groove booms away, laden with rolling tom's and the perfect amount of atmosphere. What comes next in the drop is so unique and I am obsessed with it. The wonky drawn out synth is what gets me and not just the first time, every time. I love the tension it creates, like someone pulling a string on a bow super tight, and then how he rolls it into the little synth line that carries in between the phrases. This song is pure dancefloor fire. Make sure to look for this along with the other 3 three tracks that will be accompanying the "Newkomers" EP. Release Date Jan. 28th
