Our friends Kiara Scuro, the London-based duo made up of Rosie Ama and Nadia Harris, have built up a repertoire of spooky tracks over the last few years for the likes of fabric Originals, Ritmo Fatale and Accidental Meetings.

After hunkering down in the studio last year, they're now joining the Faux Poly family for their debut EP, Night Crush. Layering their own vocals with samples, the pair deliver three percussive, rolling club tools that draw inspiration from late, hazy nights spent together in the club; the place where their friendship blossomed.

Will Hofbauer has always made music with a playful sensibility. From deep house to techno to club, it always comes with leftfield samples and an intriguing personality. His grooves are lithe, and his production styles pops and fizzes on labels like Wisdom Teeth, Optimo Music, and his own Third Place, and his return to Aus is again filled with studio trickery and dance floor delights.
Opener 'Silica Gel' is a dubby house cut with smeared pads bringing dashes of warmth. Shakers, hooky synth wiggles, and off-grid hits pepper the groove to keep things moving while sci-fi motifs bring a futuristic twist. 'Rolling in the Ooze’ picks up the pace with well-swung drums and grittier textures while bright leads dazzle and a sombre bassline adds depth. The brilliant 'Squito' has an authentic dub touch and is marbled with watery ripples and tiny sonic droplets. It's a fluid, elastic sound full of musical curiosities. Closer 'Ghoti' is a stumbling broken beat with meticulous drums and hi-hats over a stepping bassline. Bursts of shimmering synths and tumbling melodic scales light it up with a psychedelic twist.

J-CARDS is the alias of genre-fluid producer/songwriter Thijs van der Klugt, whose work drifts between roles and disciplines like flipping sides on a mixtape. Producer, songwriter, sound collagist — always shifting, never settling.

The name is a gentle nod to cassette culture: the J-card, that folded insert where handwritten tracklists, liner notes, and forgotten artwork live. For J-CARDS, it's a metaphor — for music made in fragments, for creative work that resists categorization, and for the hands-on intimacy of the creative process in a digital age.

Influenced by the soundtracks of a 90s childhood — from watching cartoons on dusty VHS tapes to crackling 12" jungle and rave records, and video game menus — J-CARDS weaves those textures into something new. The result is music that feels both distant and familiar — beat-driven, melodic, worn, and quietly cinematic.

A quiet galaxy made of songs he almost erased, but never quite could.
