Italian dj, producer and sound engineer ZERØ PHASE debuts on Ethnika Records with Dubai
based pianist, composer and dj Alesia Kudzina presenting “Níngúrúgama (Watch Me Rise)”
with the voice of Afrobeat/Afro-House singer Lin Njoroge from Nairobi, Kenya.
It’s sung in kikuyu, a Bantu language spoken by the Gĩkũyũ (biggest ethnic group of Kenya) in the
area between Nyeri, Nairobi and Nakuru by the surrounding mountain ranges in Central Kenya,
including Mount Kenya. It’s a song of resilience about a young woman going through the motions
of life and aﬃrming herself that she'll rise and overcome.

Lin Njoroge is a Kenyan singer and Songwriter from the Agíkúyú people. her music is inspired by
life happenings and the stories she collects from the people around her and her environment. she
not only writes in her native language; Gíkúyú but also swahili and English which have been a
great influence in her childhood.
