Khyenci is a singer and songwriter from the Bay Area, California, who captivates listeners with her distinctive tone and her poetic lyrical expression that talks of self-acceptance, growth, and patience.  On a recent writing camp at Empire Records Studios in San Francisco, Soul Clap linked with this remarkable talent, who’s sound has shaped this record into a vibe to remember this summer. Charles Levine knew instantly Khyenci was special. “When I first heard Khyenci’s voice and range, I knew she had skills but working with her over a week of workshop sessions, I can now see the power and capacity she has as a force of singing and songwriting. When Khyenci heard the track she wrote the lyrics immediately, recording her vocals in one take; this is the mark of a great moment in music recording.” 
 
On ‘Amazement’ Khyenci glides gracefully between low-slung neo soul and gentle bumpin’ house grooves, the track bound together by her flawless vocal (sounding a little bit Cleo Soul to me!) and Soul Claps warm and soulful production techniques. A future classic in the making? Maybe…
