3 QUESTIONS to BLADE&BEARD:

Q:  As electronic music is forbidden in Iran - how did you get in touch with the different genres and how did you get the tracks?

A: A friend of us brought the CDs from USA. The name was John Digweed "Kiss 100". There were many versions of "Kiss 100" and when we listened to this sound we just discovered Techno music and we wanted to produce this kind of sound. It was hard at first because we didn't have any education about the Techno music. But after a while it was getting better and better and we produced many tracks. But what a pity, because western music was is still forbidden in our country and we didn't have any Techno label in Iran. On the other hand we didn't have a good internet connection in Iran because everything was filtered, even SoundCloud and many other channels, but we used the proxy to listen to new sound. It was hard because with the proxy our connection was poor, but we didn't have another choice.

Q: From Iran to Europe. When you look back the past 4 years, how would you describe your experiences and impressions? And: how did you manage to bring or at least see your family?

A: Actually we have got a lot of experience and we played at many festivals like Tomorrowland. We never had this kind of festival in our country and everything was new for us because we had to play music for so many people on the dance floor. We can't come back to our country because of the movie and our government sees us as politic people in Iran due to the music and the Electronic Music. We wanted to show to young people there is new sound and you can listen to it, that's why we lost everything, also the possibility to visit our family. 

Q: What are your future plans with Blade&Beard? 

A: Years ago Blade&Beard found new sounds and we are thinking about creating something new. We are working on new EPs and many things more.
